The Quote Game - Part 4

Here we go again, same rules as always, example below (thanks to Sister Golden Hair):

Quote:

example: A_l/_h_t/_s/_o_d/_o_s/_o_/g_i_t_r

answer: All that is gold does not glitter, Gandalf's letter (or Bilbo Baggins)

Anything from The Hobbit, LOTR, the Silmaillion, or Unfinished Tales is fair game.

So solve the quote correctly and state the speaker. The person to "place the last piece" of the puzzle get's the opportunity to post a new quote, and right now that would be me so I'm starting with a long one (but with a fairly obvious speaker!):

But my guess is that 'elfearz' also got the speaker... see their bit about 'Eru' under the solved quote? That's a strong guess, since the wording includes 'my children'... does anyone recognize it and have the right book handy to check?

Meanwhile, with 'elfearz' likely sleeping, should somebody else go ahead and post?

Yes, it's in the Silmarillion, end of the first chapter. Eru is indeed the speaker.

I think we should go instead, while she's off... If someone volunteers.
