Well here goes... hope this works.... heheh.

Tasha lay emersed in the sweetly scented water, her thoughts an unending stream of fury and puzzlement. How could her father do this to her? She wasn't a peasent or a bound servant for him to trade! This all had to be a horrid dream, as surely he wouldn't have agreed to give his daughter's hand in marriage to Lord Stravis. The thought of his name sent shivers of anguish through her. Tasha couldn't, no wouldn't begin to imagine that awful man's hands upon her. Once more she shivered, despite the warm water surrounding her.

As the attendants returned with her robe, Tasha was hit again with the unnerving realiazation that this was no dream. In a matter of hours, she, Princess Tasha would be wed to Lord Stravis. Anger welled up within her, but was quickly subdued when her mother entered the room.

Tasha stepped from the cooling bath water, and slipped into the robe held out for her. She acknowledged her mother's arrival without looking to her, "Hello, my mother." Her maid-servants looked nervously at one another; as they had never heard Tasha's voice sound so distant towards Lady Eilan.

OOC: Hullo. I want to join this RPG but I need some info, just some simple questions. Where does this take place? And does it take place before or after LotR?

EDIT: BTW, I know your name from somewhere...hm....oh right! Did you ever post at an ezboard called Enchanting Camelot?

I haven't really set a place or a time as far as before or after LoTR's.. it really could be either and this could definately take place in middle earth... and yes I have posted at Enchanting Camelot... my character there Shenna is married to the dashing and galiant YodaS

Duriel crept on the boundries of the city. He approached the city cautiously, not knowing where he was. Duriel was a wanderer. He had no home, nor did he remember his ancestors. He didn't even know his present location. He surveyed the city, wondering how he would make his approach.

This was no rag tag town with pubs and inns. This was a well built, prosperous city. They would surely not let a man of his kind walk the streets. He crouched, waiting. Waiting for something he did not expect. Something. He didn't know what. Just, something.

I am drawing a complete blank as to when or where exactly to set this story so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Lady Eilan's eyes darkened, "Tasha, you know I had no choice but to obey your father's wishes." The Lady's voice was low and tainted with grief.

Tasha brushed past her mother still not looking at her, "Yes.... no choice." Her foot falls were silent in the hall as she crossed to her massive bedroom to dress for the dreaded event. Maid servants busied themselves laying out her dress, and helping her into her undergarments. As they laced her corset, Tasha eyed her mother. How thin she'd become and though she looked regal; age was beginning to show.

She noted the hint of grey that had not been there the a month before, and the fine lines that appeared now at her mother's temples. Tasha had always loved her mother's quite assertiveness that allowed her to manuver her father subtly. Why not in this decision she wondered. Anger began to turn to bitterness, and Tasha looked away from Lady Eilan.

"Lord Stravis will be able to care for you, daughter. In time you will grow to love him I am sure. I know he is not who you would have chosen, but try to make the best of this. I must ready myself, I will be back in two hours with your father to escort you to the chapel." With that said Lady Eilan left.

Tasha watched her mother's retreat, and something within her died. Her lady-in-waiting, Volanna, dismissed the other women from the roon, and began to brush Tasha's hair. Now seated in front of the fireplace, Tasha began to weep. Volanna, searched her heart for words of comfort. "I wish there was something I could do to help, m'lady. I fear that now there will be no escape for you."

Escape... the word echoed in Tasha's mind... escape. She lept from her chair startling Volanna. "That's it!"

Tasha pulled out one dress after another from her dresser. Finally finding one that was as plain as possible, Tasha had Volanna help her into it. Volanna stood there in confusion, and Tasha smiled kissing her dear friend on the cheek. "Volanna, I'm going to run away. I can't marry Stravis... he's so cruel... I know he has my father fooled, but I've heard the stories about him."

"But m'lady, they will look for you."

"Ah, but they won't find me." Tasha packed a few things in a small bag and begged Volanna to help her escape. Volanna reluctantly agreed. Now to get out of the castle.

*Ummmm....well I personally think it should be before LotR. But where....hmmm....ummm....either Rohan or Gondor is the only cities with men I can think of right now... In case you didn't know this(I'm sorry to sound so mean, wasn't inteaded) my character is either waiting for your character or one of the towns people to find him. BTW, people, join the RPG! It's gonna be a good one, I can tell!

OK, this could be right after your last post, Shenna, or there could be something inbetween, we'll just have to see.

Lord Tarvis sat impatiently at the table, drumming his fingers. Any minute now...
Suddenly two guards entered the room.
"Ah, Bardhorne, Sarenbane! Did you find her? Is she on her way?"
"I am sorry, my Lord. We did not find her. We suspect..."
The other guard quickly elbowed him.
"You suspect what? Tell me what you know, or you will suffer greatly!"
"We fear, my Lord, that she has escaped. By what means, we do not know."
"Well find out! NOW!"
"As you wish, my Lord."
Anger flooded through Lord Tarvis. This delays all proceedings! he thought. Soon the spell on her parents will wear off, and I must have her powers first!

How's that for my first one? Oh and I agree that it should definitely be before LotR. Rohan might be a good location.

'ouch' Thought Tessar as he wached the guards leave the room

'That did not go over well. but It might just help me out'.

Tessar is a wizard apprintiss of Lord Tarvis, but he didnt want to be one, he did not wish to cast dark spells and enchantments.

'I think that with all the hussle and bussle I can get out of here with out much truble'

Tessars escape was going well till he made it to the exit.

"You there! why are you leaving?"

"dark wind!" Tessar cryed out "come to my aid! smite the guard down!"

A great wind stinking of brimstone and death sprang up and slamed the guard in to the wall, knocking him out.

'That' he thought 'will be the last dark spell I cast'

He happily ran away from the castle and the dark master he had had to serve for the last 9 years of his life.

(Sorry about the spelling but I dont have time to check it out now. I will check it tommorow)

They had made it out of the castle without incident, and were heading through the town now. Tasha's heart was racing, and she noticed that Volanna looked a bit frightened. After several attempts to dissuade Volanna from coming with her, Tasha realized that it was in vain. Volanna had been Tasha's only true friend ever, and now as she was needed more than ever vowed not to leave her service.

Volanna had been concerned that they would not make it out of the castle without being seen, but Tasha had been quite confident. For though Volanna was Tasha's closest friend she did not know all of her secrets. Tasha had powers that only few knew of, and that is why she feared marriage to Stravis.

"We must get it out of Rohan, Vo." Tasha kept her voice low as they moved though the crowded marketplace.

Volanna stopped suddenly, her eyes now shocked at this announcement. "Out of Rohan? What do you mean? Where will we go?"

"Anywhere that will get me beyond that wicked man's reach." Tasha feared what would happen if she became wife, or better put prisioner to Stravis. She knew he worked for a darker purpose.

She felt safe for the moment as she had cast a small spell that would keep others from recognizing her, but she knew it wouldn't last long. They had to get out of the city, and then out of Rohan. Time was quickly running out.

Looking over a parapet of the castle was Tasha's younger sister, Elyssia. She smiled as she looked over the kingdom of Rohan. It was such a beautiful place. But infected with so many evil people. Such as Lord Tarvis, the evil magician who her sister would supposedly marry soon."Poor Tasha." She murmered to herself, the smile suddenly replaced by a frown. Elyssia found it cruel of her parents to make her sister marry someone so evil by force. She had complained about this before, but her parents never listened. They always said things like, "Oh,Elyssia...no...not now...we're busy." or,"That's Tasha's business, not yours...stay out of it, please." It was always like that. Tasha the eldest, the one who had the most parental attention, and
Elyssia the shrew, the one pushed off, the small one. But it was true;that had some advantages. After all...she wasn't the one being pushed into an unwanted marriage.
Elyssia sighed and looked again down at the city. She thought she saw...but it couldn't be...not Tasha and her servant?! She looked again. It WAS...but why? Elyssia was one who never waited to find out something she was curious over. "Ariel!" She called to her servant,who yet lingered in the indoor hall, "Please prepare my steed. I shall depart for the city immeadiately." The maidservant bowed and began to obey. Elyssia threw herself downstairs, jumped on her horse, and galloped at full speed to the city, pursuing her sister.
