Has anyone else besides me seen the preview for the peter pan movie? it looked good. coldplay will be on the soundtrack, and i hope john williams does the score.

eh, hasn't this tale been done over and over again? There have been many versions of the Peter Pan story Disney, Hook, others I'm sure.

This will probably be entertaining - but it's been done before!

Same with Freaky Friday - what is that going to be its third remake? I think so, maybe four. ENOUGH ALREADY. It was only an average movie to begin with

Coldplay! I do like a few of their songs, but Im not totally absolutely crazy about them.

Yeah, I just found out about the new Peter Pan today. The thing that's really freaky is, for a long time I've wanted (when I get older and go to film school and make movies) to make Peter Pan. My first candidate for Hook was Jacob Issacs. It's really uncanny, because things like this happen to my family all the time. I think Hollywood has a satelite (spl?) over our house and uses all our ideas. Freaky.

I saw the preview and I must saw it looks like it might be ok. The sets look very good and the little kid playing Peter looks exactly like him, but we'll see. I am kind of dissappointed to hear there will be yet another one. Hook was good, but nothing compares to Disney's Peter Pan.

I've never actually read J.M. Barrie's original material (nor have I seen any P.J. Hogan movies) so I can't comment on how this is being done. But from what I've seen so far, it looks exactly like what Spielberg wanted to do with Hook but didn't. I think the design work is spot-on; you see, it actually has atmosphere.

Who knows - it could be the, what, third decent film to be distributed by Revolution Studios? (Black Hawk Down and Punch-Drunk Love being the other two... otherwise, Revolution has a lot of trash to its name, in my opinion.)

The score is not being done by John Williams, but by James Newton Howard. He's the guy who's done all three M. Night Shyamalan films, Dinosaur (the score was the best thing about that movie), Waterworld (ditto), Disney's recent adventures (Treasure Planet and Atlantis), and The Fugitive. Probably a good choice for the kind of adventurous tone they want to achieve.

John Williams is way past his adventure-scoring prime. His best works in recent years were A.I. and Catch Me If You Can, both of which are amazing scores but completely different from his Skywalker/Jones era. Actually, I thought his writing for Attack of the Clones was a stunning return to form, but the score was not edited into the movie as well I would have liked.
