Another Padme rant...

Also this, my friends, about Padme: I find it annoying beyond belief that she is supposedly so "mature" and "life advice-giving" just because she was Queen of Baboons...eh, Naboo. If the queen's stance on Naboo is really one just for show, she really wouldn't know anything more than she knew already...
what a hack...

It's not ugly, it's just Sanskrit.

Just posting here to say I really, really like Natalie Portman's acting as Padme in Star Wars . It was very, very well done, IMO!

Ehh... I don't have as much of a problem with the name "Padme." It's "Amidala" that bothers me a bit. It seems to much like something a 7 year old would put together on a scrabble board, I suppose.

I think she got better as the series went on (though it's been a while since I've seen those three), but she's really an incredibly distant second compared to Leia.

Amidala was only her throne name, acquired after her election as queen. For all we know they really did use scrabble.

I'll admit, my impression of the third movie was based entirely on McDiarmid's acting and Hayden's face.

I guess I wasn't quite paying attention to her by that point.

Have you seen the "Empire Brokeback" film montage? It's basically a collage of starwars scenes with potentially suggestive lines and features, with the Brokeback Mountain theme in the background...very well done, and pure hilarity
