Best Movies of 2005...so far

I've seen this on another forum (one dedicated to movies, Cinemablend), and I wonder if this topic would work here at entmoot in the entertainment forum.

Here is how it works:
-this is a list of every movie you see this year (all movies officially released in theaters in 2005 in order from your best to worst (1 being the one you like the most and so on....)
-not a list of the top one or two - ALL of the 2005 movies you have seen in order by your best to worst
-Please just keep editing your original posts with the running list... as you see more movies that were officially released in 2005, just edit them in and re-order your list.

Hopefully this works out, as it is fun to see all the movies from this year that people have seen and their favorites.

By the time the end of the year rolls around, your list of best movies should already be compiled.

I shall go first then to show how I envision this working.

my list (best to worst)
Best movies of 2005... so far (best to worst):
1. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
2. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
3. Serenity
4. King Kong
5. The 40 Year-Old Virgin
6. Batman Begins
7. Crash
8. Sin City

10.Walk the Line
11.Pride and Prejudice
12. Kung Fu Hustle
13. War of the Worlds

Now as I see more 2005 movies, I would just edit them in and re-order the list.

They have to be ones you've seen in the theatres, right? Not rentals? What if they were released in 2005 but are already on DVD?

I'd start with:

1. Kingdom of Heaven

since it's the only film I've seen this year in an actual cinema. Plus I really loved it.

"What if they were released in 2005 but are already on DVD?"

As long as it was released in theaters in 2005, it doesn't matter if you saw it in a movie theater or on DVD. This does not include movies from other years being released on DVD this year - only movies officially released in cinemas in 2005. (I saw Assault on Precinct 13 on DVD, and it was released in theaters this year, so I added it to my list)

1. Revenge of the Sith

-----
I've seen a few movies, but at the moment I'm just putting on the top favorites, those that stand out far above the others. I really, really am looking forward to seeing "The Kingdom of Heaven," and being able to add that onto the list . Seeing "Hitchhiker's Guide" will also be a blast .

Tessar, the first three movies on your list are USA 2004 releases. (Phantom , Incredibles, Spiderman II)
Lotesse, Million Dollar Baby and Life Aquatic are 2004 releases, at least in the USA (I don't know what country you are from).

This was not intended to be a list of every movie you see this year, just movies from 2005. Movies from 2004 are not from 2005 All movies with an official theater release date prior to January 1st, 2005 are not 2005 movies, even if the DVD is released in 2005.

Sorry for the confusion; the rules could have been more clear.

1. Revenge of the Sith
2. The Pacifier
3. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
4. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
5. Racing Stripes
6. Ice Princess
7. March of the Penguins
8. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

(Son of the Mask happened to be on at a friend's house while we were having a meeting there; I didn't really "see" it, but saw enough to know that it was terrible -- IMO, of course!)

My only two so far were good ones:

1. Revenge of the Sith (Anakin! :O)
2. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (give me some more of that ol' Janx Spirit! ;D)
