Help me! (also known as calling all songwriters, musicians etc)

Okay.
I don't believe it. How could I be so stupid? I planned ahead, I did -- started in the beginning of October, as soon as I knew the date for the Middle School Fall Party. And then . . .
Homework came along. And then . . .
Time caught up to me. And now . . .
I have one week- less, actually -- to finish writing, recording, and organizing some form of accompaniment to a song.
And my deadline is Saturday.
And I'm screwed, big time.

So. It's a bit unusual for me to start a "help!" thread, but help is what I'm hoping for (depending on) and I thought you guys are generally fairly musical, or at least halfway intelligent. Which is better than what I am.

I need help on the following:
Recording tchniques (and computer equipment advice to do so).
Advice on how to beat a synthesizer (or keyboard; whatever you call it) into submission.
And eventually - think Thursday or Friday - critics.

Anybody care to lend me a hand?

And, oh, Eru, how in all of Arda could I be so stupid???!!!!!

I can be critical.

I can't however, help with the whole beating thing. Machinary and i do not get on at all. If you need a critique though, there i can help.

Hey -- technologically-advanced folkies out there: However does one operate the percussion function on a Yamaha keyboard?

What model? There are many kinds of keyboards... some of them just have a button you push that switches an entire section of the keys into percussion instrument sounds. Others have a completely separate drumkit MIDI "voice" entirely.
