Gimli: ex-marine and current geologist

Legolas: star in one those " wild kingdom/ national geographic" t.v. shows

No way man, Tom Bombadil has to be Santa Clause (or else the Knee-walking Turkey for Thanksgiving). Galadriel is the Virgin Mary. So they both get Christmas roles.

Aragorn should be King of England, I think.

i completely agree with you on tom.

BUT galadriel is not a virgin, is and maybe to willful for such a task, however she does have a divine aura about her

if they had "real" jobs maybe tom would be a very eccentric philantropist

as for aragorn if he was king of england he'd have no real power, however if you have heard tony blair speak in the last few weeks

Mouth of Sauron=Taliban Leader

(nice metaphor with the mouth, no?)

Arwen=...Selma Blair? teehee. Maybe the Queen of England or the Queen Mother (I always remember Queen Mother after seeing graffiti on a park bench in London which gives a long essay on why you should f*censored* the Queen Mother)

Dunedain=US army (especially in WW1 and WW2, sitting there and watching the europeans and asians die on TV then finally mobilise when the war comes to them.)

Pippin will be an idiot who died in his childhood.

Faramir=Al Gore, seen but never heard

Eowyn=The first female commando. has a Clinton-Monica relationship with Faramir.

Gandalf=freak

Saruman=CEO of important, evil computer processor manufacturer. (Or is that Sauron? "One chip to rule them all, one chip to find them....")

Legolas=environmental activist. spends two years in a tree a la Julia Bird. although I must admit, I like the idea of him starring in a National Geographic show better.

Elrond=Buddhist scholar

Pippin=high school dropout, lead singer of unsuccessful rock band

Treebeard=character at theme park

I think Treebard would be an actor who plays trees in cheesy plays that have singing animals and plants and stuff.

Bill (the pony) would be a champion race horse and Sam would be his short statured jockey.

Gollum would be some creepy old homeless man who lives in the sewers of New York City. He only comes out at night to steal the jewelry (esp. rings) from some hapless passer by.

Celebrimbor would be working in Bell Labs on some new advanced alloy or superconductor. A lot of surviving Gwaith-i-Mirdain would be there as well, so if you see some stunningly handsome scientists there......

The Dwarves would be mining diamonds in South Africa and the Heir of Durin would be running the de Beers diamond cartel.

Some of the more talented Dwarves would be working in Bell Labs with Celebrimbor, so if you see some short, stocky, bearded scientists working alongside stunningly handsome scientists.......

Sauron would be running Bell Labs and other advanced research labs for his own secret ends. Also in charge of Area 51.

Thranduil would be running Greenpeace, with Treebeard as his campaign advisor.
