Gormenghast

I have just started this trilogy and I must confess that I just can't seem to get into it. Anybody else read it? And does it get any better or are all three books in the same tone as the beginning of the first book?

Yes! I read the first 2, and loved them... You just have to get into them. The start was a little slow, as I recall, but things definitely got better.
