Kind of, yeah. That's the same exact impression I myself got when I watched the Azkaban movie, those deatheaters DID seem a bit Nazi-esque.

well apparently Rowling did it without intention, she states somewhere on her website that she went to see a memorial museum of the secone world war, and she noticed that in fact the Nazi's used to work in exactly the same way as she made her DeathEaters work. she already wrote it down before checking and comparing it she says. so yeah, they do look alike.

Pureblood and Arian race??

Yeah, they're very similar, aren't they? I always wonder if Grindelwald (The Dark wizard who was defeated by Dumbledore in 1945, mentioned on D's chocolate frog card) might have been mixed up with Hitler and his bunch.

I guess if you're a dark wizard who hates muggles, it might be useful to start a war and have them kill each other off... all just speculation, of course.

hmm definitely some similarities - but I doubt that they are directly based on Nazis. Who knows.

And why would that offend any Germans? They are no longer Nazis - Germany is our ally now and has been since the end of WWII. Germany is cool

But Germany is definetly cool
