NO advance in Technology!!!!!

Does anyone else think it is strange that in 3000 years, there were absolutely no advances in technology???? You would think with all the bright and powerful people wandering around middle earth in all those years, that someone would have invented something!!!!!

That's ironic, FT. Besides the fact that they have devices in ME as advanced or more than anything we have (palantir, rings of power), the kind of industry needed for our type of technology is the vary thing that Mordor and Isengard are attempting to build.

I believe that in at least one story, the Numenoreans had engine-powered metal ships.
