N J O - Will part sixteen be the final one?

I got info about NJO saying that "Force Heretic II" (NJO-16) is to be the final part in the series. Is this true?

I thought the way it worked was that they'd have a total of five NJO hardcovers, and the fifth one would be the last one.

Not that I read them. But the sooner they kill it off the better...

You totally should read them. Especially Traitor. If you don't read any of the other ones, please read at least that one. Here is the reason it is so important: quoted directly from the book, "There is no dark side".

Ironically, that's exactly the kind of thing that turns me off the EU books. Hackwork, if you ask me, but a lot of people seem to enjoy them, so I certainly stand back and let'em at it...

NJO? New Jedi Order books? You mean the one where chewie gets crushed by a moon? and Boba Fett escapes the Sarlacc?

Ya know, there just gonna come up with more stuff.

I mean, if there just gonna make 16, they won't have enought time to explain how the darth vader comes back to life and figures out how to duplicate himself like Smith in Matrix Reloaded.

I mean dudes who can't be felt with the force?

Come on

The force is "built" around living beings.

Remember Qui-Gon Jinn telling Anakin about micro-what-um-a-things?

That live around simbions or however they are spelt?

Like 16 is gonna be enought for them.

There will be two more NJO books after the Force Heretic trilogy: The Final Prophecy and The Unifying Force . They will be out by the end of the year. The NJO will end there. In 2005 there will be a trilogy that takes place post-NJO.

Thanks. I will read all of them in one go when I've got the lot (the latest I bought is Heretic 3).

The NJO series started with a *bang*

and ended with a *whimper*

As much as I enjoyed reading Dark Tide, Agents of Chaos, etc, post 'Star By Star' <-- a mediocre one, is just a mess, well 'Traitor' is pretty good, but the other lot is not.

IMHO, the writers of the series doesn't have the subtlety and wit of the pre-NJO EU writers, but maybe that's because they're limited by marketing tricks... those darned limited pages...

I'm in the process of reading 1-9(plus Shadow of the Empire) the ones about Luke and Anakin. Are the NJO books your talking about another series or does it start after #9 The Last Command?

The New Jedi Order (NJO) Series we are talking about are the most recent series post-Return of the Jedi. They take place about 21-25 years after Return of the Jedi and feature Luke, Leia, Han, Mara Jade Skywalker, and the Solo children. It's been really good so far. They have two more left of the series. It will total 19 books plus e-books.

Alright thanks! But does it start counting at one or does it start counting at ten because The Last Command is #9?

Sorry, I don't think I understand your question. Are you talking about The Last Command as being Episode 9? The New Jedi Order takes place 21 years after Return of the Jedi. The Tim Zahn Trilogy isn't officially Episodes 7-9, but I think most people like to think of them that way.

Han and Leia's twins, Jacen and Jaina, were born at the end of The Last Command and they are 16-years-old at the start of the New Jedi Order.

I hope that helps.

Heir to the Empire . Dark Force Rising , and The Last Command all take place about 4-5 years after ROTJ. Leia is pregnant through all three books.
