I just re-watched the trailer, and to me, Gloin looked a LOT like Gimli (his son). I wondered for awhile if John Rhys Davies (sp?) was going to play father as well as son - but the cast list shows a 'Peter Hambleton' for Gloin. Did anyone else notice the resemblance? Or see it if you look for it?

With such a heavy layer of make-up, you can look like anybody, I expect. But GloÃ*n should have been in the LoTR movie, one of the the unintroduced Dwarves on the Council of Elrond. I'd have to guess at the moment, but it wouldn't surprise me they had have made his dress-style simular to Gimli even then. Perhaps they're re-using that same costume now?
