I used to have an imaginary friend. When I was little I didn't have any older siblings to play with, so I had to make one up. I don't remember doing this, but my Mum tells me I did. I can't remember what my friend's name was; I'll ask Mum later and find out.

I never really had an imaginary friend. (When you have 10 bros and sisters who needs imaginary friends? ) But my oldest sister has caught her 3 yr old son a few times talking to the air. Once, he was leaning out of the window talking to someone and she asked "Who are you talking to?". And he answered, as if it was so obvious, "Spider-man!" Duh! He also had a pet llama that he fed carrots to. Such a cute kid...
