Oh man, I friggin' love wheel of time.
... so much that I may skip the movies... I mean seriously. ANOTHER epic adventure? Urgh. Plus I can promise you that they'll probably rewrite the thing so much that it'll be like an entirely different 'book'. Not even out of trying to make it into an "epic" film, but because you'll have to cut 9/10ths of the good stuff just to make it -fit-. |

Hmm. I'm thinking Jennifer Connerly (Blood Diamond). She seems like a good actress to play Moirane.
Now on your picks for the cast: Rand Al' Thor – Chace Crawford I'm not too familiar with Crawford to actually say yay or nay to this. I'd go with Jackson Rathbone(Twilight) on this Perrin Aybara - Chris Hemsworth And again, I'm not familiar with Hemsworth period, so I can't make a comment about him. My pick would have been Michael Copon(The Scorpion King 2), he's not as broad shouldered as I pictured Perrin, though. Egwene al’Vere – Emmy Rossum I agree with you on this one. Nyneave Al' Meara - Evangeline Lily I'm seeing Lena Headey(300) in this role. Jaret Byar – Jason Issacs Who was Jaret again? Geofram Bornhald – Tom Wilkinson I'm thinking either him or Steve Speirs (Eragon) Mazrim Taim – Sean Bean Wasn't this the False Dragon? If so, agreed. Aviendha – Jessica Alba Agreed Mat Cauthon - Jonas Armstrong Not familiar with him. Edward Speelers (Eragon) Elayne Trakand - January Jones Wasn't she the girlfriend on Anger Management. If so, she has the Elayne look Galad Damodred - Brandon Routh I haven't seen his work, so I can't comment. Berelain - Kristin Kreuk Anna Walton (Hellboy 2) Min Farshaw - Kristen Bell Anna Popplewell (Narnia) Al' Lan Mandragon - Adrian Pasdar If not him, than Gerard Butler. Fain is just creepy and would give Jones a wonderful display of his uber creepy acting skills.

Rhavin was the Forsaken That Rand killed at the end of Fires of Heaven Chris Vance plays Whistler on Prison Break. I'm not familiar with Chace Crawford and Chris Hemsworth either but they can act and they have the look. As for Jonas Armstrong he plays Robin Hood in the BBC series

Of course it's possible to film them. Most of the pages in WoT are filler anyway.
 Seriously, I think WoT can benefit enormously from a visual reduction to its plot-critical essentials. Speaking as someone who quit after seven, Robert Jordan has always impressed me as a plot architect, but the vast majority of his minor characters are dispensable, and he lends credence to the idea that a picture is worth a thousand words. At a rate of 24 frames per second, that comes out to about two to three hours per book. Perfect.

I quit after... 8 maybe? Or was it 9? They all blend together now... It killed me to do it because I'd read so much, but then I thought "Yeah, but how much of that was actually story and how much was filler?" Best decision I made I still wish them luck! |
