My friend told me this story: one time she was standing outside a movie theatre and the people behind her were talking about the last time they had seen a movie, which had been LotR. They said the plot didn't make any sense and Frodo was an idiot and that they should just destroy the ring IT CAN'T BE DESTROYED LIKE THAT YOU STUPID NON FANS! And then when they got to the part on Khazad Dum, they were like "And that one old dude went and fell off a cliff, what was his name again?"
"Whose name?"
"You know, that guy with the beard?"
"The Sauron guy?"
"No, the other one, with the pointy hat..."
"Wasn't his name George?"

I am surprised she let them go with their lives....I wouldn't have!

It really annoys me when my mum calls Gollum "Dobby" - grrrrrr!

lol that's funny! The funniest one yet! Usually the characters names are quite similar to peoples mistakes but that one is classic! lol!

My friend calls Boromir the "give blood man" coz you know he does the give blood adverts on tv.

and Aragorn was Argon.

LOL!! apparently these people were not paying attention to the storyline of the movie to begin with...

truthfully i do not see how the plot didn't make sense to them, but then again i guess science fiction/fantasy stories is like a completely different dimension to the majourity...

i know loads of people who didn't understand the plot, and who refuse to see it more than once. When i try to explain it they get more confused than ever.

"So the guy with the sword is called ...oh i know...it's errr..."
I'm like "which one?"
"The ugly ones"
"Orks?"
"no that guy from that film with Josh Hartnett"
"The Faculty?"
"Yeah...wasn't it good?"
"Elijah Wood was frodo?"
"Who's Frodo? oh he's the tall one with blonde hair isn't he"
"errrr...no"

It goes on forever so i give up with explaining it.

My friend told me this: Another friend of mine, after seeing TTT crouched down and said "Look! I am Smuggle!" I about died laughing. It didn't frustrate me, it was just hilarious.

My little four year old sister still cant pronounce her R's, so GIMLI comes out GIMWI, It is cute of her. A couple of my friends think saruman is sauron.

Its maddening how many people get those two mixed up! But then they are both evil and the names are very similar, still though...

When I was very little, I knew Legolas's name was Legolas, but I pictured him without Legs

lol, I first heard of Legolas when I was 5 or 6, so I think I can be forgiven at that age...

I was telling a friend of mine how I got a free ticket to TTT and how excited I was, to which she replied "Oh, is that about the two towers that got destroyed last year? I didn't know they were making a movie.." Please! Doesn't it annoy you when people never get excited about anything except cute guys? And even then, they can't remember their names!!!! GRRRR!!!
