I would have kept going until I got tired of deleting threads or y'all got tired of posting them. I fought for almost an hour as it was. I probably would have given up because of hunger after about two hours because I was freakin' starving. Even though I had my Slim Jims and Mountain Dew, a man cannot live by Dew alone.

You guys made me modify my title. Someone should write the epic of valiant Khamûl.

You know, I was just thinking... a message board like this may not have the permanence of a great nation. Maybe we SHOULD go a bit shorter with the terms...?

First I thought maybe one year... but it would get REAL old if we ended on April 1 every year. So then I thought maybe something like: 1 year + 1 month + 1 day. Sort of 'old worldish' in a way. Actual day count would vary from 394 to 398, depending on Leap Years and which months were actually included. What do you guys think?

Alternatively, since it's so close, we could just do 400 days???

i thought something tolkienesque,
like 'eleventy-one' days or something
but that would obviously be too
short a term, even for our illustrious
President Hector

With our last few US Presidents, the press has made a big deal of what they do in their first 100 days in office... maybe WE do that with the first 'eleventy-one' days - and have a 'confidence' vote at that point to see if he can finish up his term!

i told you we have to look out for Val... he's already positioning himself for the coup d'etat

i think the one-year term isn't a bad idea though

As Minister for Administrative Affairs, i move
the notion that the term of office shall be 1 year,
ending on the 30th of March,
so as to avoid All Fools Day on the
1st of April

Why not change it to 1 year and 11 days? You'll still have the eleventy-one in there somehow.....

As secretary I write that down and add: 'WHAT!? Khamul is a guy?! (No offense )

I still don't see what his actual role is as president...

Considering a large number of people thought you weren't a guy, you can't really talk!

And you're launching a coup d'etat for a post which does nothing and means nothing? Oh preferably...
What does it do when it's not preferable?... what pathetic question phrasing...

Sorry L_E, posted over you...
Well doesn't everyone ask such difficult questions in politics!
*Adopts speaker pose*
Well, Lalaith... as was clear from my remarks, I was merely commenting on the genderical state of my right honourable friend. It is not for me to comment on the inability of other people to determine my own gender... I feel you people here must make that decision, that brave choice. Decide on my policies not my gender.
As I said, I have clear policies. The decision to join... um... Hector's team was not taken lightly. Indeed, I never asked for a role on the team in some half assed attempt at a joke. I knew from the beginning his work to close the missile gap between the great nation of Entmoot and the communist state of New Jersey was vital...

I've never judged you by your gender, nor will I ever. I was just pointing something out that I found fairly amusing. And I never said that you took on the position as a joke. And I'm just going to sit back and wait until JD reads that little comment on New Jersey.

I never said you said anything about what I said then. Ha! Now who's confused? Ok, no-one, don't bother saying...

Yeah, I was merely addressing the points which I have a guilty conscience about... I mean, that are my weakness, I mean... erm...

Yes you are spamming!

And Hector - I'd just like to say that I was asking Janny (who is a member of your team, thus having something to do with this thread), a couple of perfectly spam free questions! And some other members have also put across so good points concerning the 90 sec rule. Just because you want to spam, don't blame us!

These issues are up to Ben and Tristan. Hector's reign as president is 4 years because that's what Tristan held it for. Tristan would have to decide if the term could be reduced to 1 year.

The 90 second rule is most likely not going to change, but if it did, that would be up to Ben.

I don't really have a problem with the 90 sec rule anymore. It's just the 120 sec PM rule that annoys me at times. I've never understood why the PM rule is longer than the 90 sec one.
