I liked that line too. It shows you how much the bond between Frodo and Sam is (once again). But for some reason I never like to read it because I find myself reading further into the book than I want. Some of that book is kinda depressing

One of my favourite quotes is when Boromir says "One does not simply walk into Mordor ther is evil there that does not sleep" I find that line quite funny but I don't know why.
I also like it when Aragorn say's to Frodo "You should be dead" I just think oh thats nice compliment!!

Another one of my favorit quotes is when Frodo is at a secret meeting with Elrond and cmpany and Sam pops out in the middle to declare that he was to go were ever FRodo goes(what a great friend he is) and Elrond says"No indeed.ou atleast shall go with him. it is hardly inpossible to seperate you from him, even when he is summoned to a secret council and you are not."
I absolutly love that line.

Mine

I like the lines that made me cry.
Boromir's "I would have followed you my brother, my captain. My King." made me cry, so did Sam's "Course you are. And I'm coming with you!"
SNIFF!

Oh yes, Sicirus, I loved that bit! What really got me is the way when Elrond's going "Even when you...are...not..." and Sam does this little embarrased look. How cute!

Gandalf

I loved the bit near the beginning when Gandalf drags Sam in through the window and Sam says, "Don't hurt me, Mr. Gandalf, don't turn me into anything ... unnatural".

And also when Gimli says "No-one tosses a dwarf!" when the Fellowship are in the Mines.

Sam Gamgee

Here's some more I like( brace yourselves) :

In the Great Forest: Master Merry's being squeezed in a crack!

In Gollum's cave:But we only has two!

Moria:Nobody tosses a Dwarf!(then nearly falls when he does it himself )

Moria:Frodo's scream of ''NOOOOOO!GANDALF!''(I almost felt like joining him at that point. Really made for a great exit from Moria...NOT!)

Anduin:Let's go hunt some Ork!

Gandalf to Frodo in Moria:So say all who live to see such times, but it is not what you...do....say....*come on ...come on.....* .....O.K. Fine. Whatever Gandalf says to Frodo just then

Bree: This, my friend, is a pint!

Bree:Baggins?Sure, I know a Baggins! Frodo's my second cousin on my mother's side, and my third cousin on my father's side,if you follow me.(quite effectively pionting out the exact whereabouts of the One Ring to all interested)

Balin's tomb:I was afraid it was a brave but dead hobbit that Aragorn was carrying!

Gandalf's ''No! Do not drop me!''when Gwaihir saved him.

Whew!

Sam Gamgee hmmmmm

cannot be bothered to read all the other posts so will just haul out my favourite moment for no paticular purpose other than that it amuses me.

"I don't know why he's so upset. After all it's just a few carrots."
"And some cabbages."
"And those potatoes we lifted last week."
"Yes Pippin but my point is he's clearly over reacting."

Here are my favs

-I don't know half of you half as well as I should like and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
~Bilbo Baggins

Please don't hurt me, sir, don't turn me into anything unnatural.
~Samwise Gamgee

Not nearly frigtened enough, I know what hunts you.
~Strider

If you want him, come and claim him!
~Arwen

Instead of a Dark-Lord, you would have a queen, not dark but beautiful and terrible as the dawn! Tempestuous as the sea and stronger than the foundations of the earth! All shall love me and despair!
~Lady Galadriel

It is not the eastern shore that worries me. A shadow and a threat have been growing in my mind. Something draws near, I can feel it.
~Legolas

I would have followed you to the end, my brother, my captain, my king.
~Boromir

Gollum

I like pippin's "What about second breakfast, elevendies, lunch, snack, tea time do you think he knows about those?"

And elrond's funny line "Strangers from distant lands, you wil unite or you will fall." that is such a funny line it is cool too.

My favorite quote is one of Galadriels. She's an oracle, true, but her tone of voice and her perception is awesome. "...He has fallen into shadow. This quest is on the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and you will fail." Wowie!

I found a great site with the entire script!Elisabeth Kerrigan deserves a Nobel Prize! Go to http://blake.prohosting.com/awsm/script/LOTRFOTR.html. Ogle all you like (Now, be prepared for the long haul)

Gandalf: A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.

~*~

Frodo: Before you came along, we Bagginses were very well thought of. Never had any adventures or did anything unexpected.

Gandalf: If you're referring to that incident with the dragon, I was barely involved. I only gave your uncle a little nudge out the door.

Frodo: Whatever you did, you have been officially labeled a disturber of the peace.

~*~

Bilbo: No thank you! We don't want any more well-wishers, visitors, or distant relations!

~*~

The parts where Gandalf hits his head on the chandelier, the ceiling, etc.

~*~

Frodo: Go on, Sam, ask Rosie for a dance!

Sam: I think I'll just have another ale.

Frodo: Oh, no you don't! *Shoves Sam at Rosie*

~*~

Bilbo: So there I was, at the mercy of three monstrous trolls, and they were arguing about how to cook us! Whether it be turned on a spit, or if they should sit on us one by one and squash us into jelly! They spent so much time arguing the whithertos and whyfors that the first light of the sun crept up over the tops of the trees and turned them all to stone!

~*~

(Long one)

Gandalf returns to his wagon for more fireworks, and when he leaves, Merry and Pippin come out to steal one of their own. Merry gives Pippin a boost into the wagon, where he roots around and comes up with one.

Merry: Not that one! The big one, the big one!

Pippin grabs the largest firework he can find, which is bright red and huge. They hurry into the tent, so they won't be caught with it. Pippin lights it.

Pippin: There!

Merry: You're supposed to put it in the ground first!

Pippin: It is in the ground!

Merry: Outside!

Pippin: This was your idea!

The firework goes off, taking the roof of the tent with it, and leaving Merry and Pippin flat on the ground, covered in soot. The firework goes straight up, becomes a dragon's head, turns around, sprouts wings, and flies in low over the crowd. General panic. Frodo sees it coming and tries to warn Bilbo.

Frodo: Bilbo, watch out for the dragon!

Bilbo: Nonsense, there hasn't been a dragon in these parts for a thousand years!

They duck to avoid the dragon, which, having given everyone a good scare, dissolves into a spectacular shower of sparks. Merry and Pippin observe the results and are well pleased.

Pippin: That was good!

Merry: Let's get another one!

Gandalf comes up behind and grabs Merry and Pippin by their ears.

Gandalf: Meriadoc Brandybuck, and Peregrin Took. I might have known.

Merry and Pippin end up washing dishes in penance.

~*~

I need to do something, but I'll be back with more! MWAHAHAHAHAA....

FREAK RAIN!!!!!!!! O.o

Queen of prolonged unexplained absences and long, loooong car rides.

Well, hullo everyone. As you can see, I don't hang out here muchly anymore. There's a good reason for this. Y'see, I've been hanging out at a different chatboard called Cardboardia. So far, I've been havin' a blast. Not that I don't love the TLA, but the magic of Entmoot is lost on me. So, as soon as TLA ends, so will my existance here, probably.

Who knows though? I might stay. Highly unlikely however. This is a good bye in advance, then. Unless you want to join me and my group of friends at Cardboardia.

Cheers!

My new favorite line:

"You cannot hide. I see you. There is no Life in the Void. Only Death."
*****Sauron to Frodo while Frodo is wearing the One Ring at the Prancing Pony

A moral of the whole (after the primary symbolism of the Ring, as the will to mere power, seeking to make itself objective by physical force and mechanism, and so also inevitably by lies) is the obvious one that without the high and noble the simple and vulgar is utterly mean; and without the simple and ordinary the noble and heroic is meaningless."
