What I dislike about the whole thing is that is not Tolkien. Sure there is alot of death in LOTR and its horrible, but there is certainly no sex, so why should PJ put it in? As a female, I think the expanded female roles are good, if they are done properly.
Polkat: In my previous post I wasn't necessarily refering to you, just people in general. I'm sure alot of people wouln't mind the scene, but hardcore purists like me might disagree. I still think that it is unlikely this scene will occur.......hopefully in December I won't regret those words.

I really hope he doesn't have a sex scene -- it really isn't necessary. That would really be cheapening the film, especially since they aren't married yet. I really doubt it will happen, but if it does, I won't be as much of a fan of the movie as I was of the first one. The story speaks for itself. He doesn't NEED to add anything like that to make the story more appealing to a large audience! It's a great story!

Undeniably, the role of Arwen is going to be expanded. I think the bier scene is a dream sequence or something. But "love scene"?! Where they take each other clothes off?! PULL THE OTHER ONE GUYS, IT AIN'T WASHING. For the love of Eru, that's the biggest load of horse-**** I've ever seen. What flavour of gullible do you think we are?

i have wisely refrained from comment on all this stuff...i don't want to see them having sex, for Eru's sake! but if this is all just a rumor then...never mind. I'm not talking very coherently today, don't mind me.

Well BoP, considering you were the first one to say that, I'd say Entmoot's a pretty powerful flavor of gullible!

What if Arwen on the bier is actually her in the Houses of Healing? Oh no- maybe she *does* take Eowyn's place!

Don't call me gullible! I quote my earlier post:
"I really really hope what you described is not true, Tater." That was my nice way of saying is Tater joking. I didn't think it could be true, but I was just speculating. Damn I wanted to see Aragorn with no shirt on!

Hey, did you know that gullible isn't in the dictionary?
Geez, you need me to smack you over the head with it? There is no love scene. It's all lies. Now stop being a fool, and start using that grey/pink squishy thing in your head.

I had no problem with the kiss between Aragorn and Arwen in FotR, even though it wasn't in the book, but I wouldn't want to see anything steamier in either of the remaining two movies.
There are plenty of movies which feature this sort of thing but I don't think it should creep into the LOTR movies. Professor Tolkien would not be amused if it did, right?

I'm no prude, but the kiss between Aragorn and Arwen did make me uncomfortable.
This whole thread is pretty funny now, though it did get me annoyed for a bit.
