I think that the scary part is that Arwen is soooo much older than Aragorn.... I mean, who marries their ancestors, however distant?

Who cares how old she is? She was immortal, so she would still appear young and beautiful and lively. Besides, they loved each other and that's all that really matters, isn't it?
Actually, I think it would be pretty interesting. "Tell me again what the world was like long before I was even born." |

And, she's not old for elves. I can't find a really bad thing about this. And Aragorn is pretty old himself for a man.

Well, they're ALL children of Iluvatar, so the only ones in Middle Earth not practicing incest would be the men and elves and ents humping dwarves.
YEEEEECCCCCCHHHHHHHH!!!!!

A moral of the whole (after the primary symbolism of the Ring, as the will to mere power, seeking to make itself objective by physical force and mechanism, and so also inevitably by lies) is the obvious one that without the high and noble the simple and vulgar is utterly mean; and without the simple and ordinary the noble and heroic is meaningless." No, I don't imagine that she did. She became mortal, NOT human.

By the way my great aunt married my uncle, which makes me my own niece -- or does it? I used to know this. I think Arwen had to have aged along with Aragorn, though I think they both stayed pretty young looking all their lives. After all, Aragorn got to die when he felt like it. |

It's okay for cousins to marry, and Aragorn and Arwen are cousins many generations removed. Even though they have the same distant ancestors, they're not technically related.
Didn't Aragorn die when he was about 200?

I thought that was weird. "Yes, Arwen, I think I'll drop dead now. See ya!" *carks it* Psycho Numenoreans!

As I recall, it was considered bad form to marry anyone closer than second cousin among the Eldar. Third cousins and further, however, were fair game. So Aragorn and Arwen, while technically related, are not being incestuous by elven standards.

Hmm.. pick up the mail, yup, did that... take cloak to the cleaners... check... buy groceries... yes, that's done. The only thing left is to die....... *whump!*

It's not really suicide because it's kinda good manners among Numenoreans to die before you get too old and ugly and "unmanned". And I thought I was weird!

They don't so much kill themselves prematurely as refuse to cling to life when it's time to go. It's all a matter of perspective.

In this place will I abide, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world.' 'Then Tuor arrayed himself in the hauberk, and set the helm upon his head, and he girt himself with the sword; black were sheath and belt with clasps of silver. Thus armed he went forth from Turgon's hall, and stood upon the high terraces of Taras in the red light of the sun. None were there to see him, as he gazed westward, gleaming in silver and gold, and he knew not that in that hour he appeared as one of the Mighty of the West, and fit to be father of the kings of the Kings of Men beyond the Sea, as it was indeed his doom to be; but in the taking of those arms a change came upon Tuor son of Huor, and his heart grew great within him. And as he stepped down from the doors the swans did him reverence, and plucking each a great feather from their wings they proffered them to him, laying their long necks upon the stone before his feet; and he took the seven feathers and set them in the crest of his helm, and straightway the swans arose and flew north in the sunset, and Tuor saw them no more.' -Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin "Oh.
