I've always called it a brainfreeze, and I only get them from ice cream and Frosty's at Wendy's.

How does brainfreeze work exactly? I know eating/drinking something really cold triggers it, but how does it trigger it? Especially since the cold food/drink goes down your throat and not up to your brain.

Why do I get a brain freeze?

Long story short: When you eat or drink something really cold, nerves in your palate (the top of your mouth) cramp up. The nerves tell blood vessels in the brain to get bigger. When the vessels get bigger, we get a headache. When the vessels contract again, the headache goes away.

And another thing: you have to have a brain before it can freeze up.

About Eowyn,
Does anyone know what her alias Dernhelm means?

She was kown as dernhelm because of her exclaimation when she realized that the rider's headgear was heavy and obscured her sight.

Ah. Thanks indeed. I was too lazy to search for it on my own.
