The difference is that this thread is about the book, The Hobbit, and that thread is about the species of hobbits.

Also the hobbit (book) was titled "there and back again". the little fur balls are stuck with "hobbit".

"there and back again" is the name Tolkien decided to call the book, but it's much longer then the name "the hobbit". maybe the publication don't like long names... and maybe tolkien decided that this name is too long.

thought so, almost everyone does. and then almost everyone read lotr. and get in to this forums site...

I think he probably likes it now -- considering this is such an old thread -- but either way it shouldn't matter since it was targeted for much younger audiences to begin with.

You think a moderator might've had more respect for a Tolkien book since the board he's moderating is Tolkien themed. Even if he was younger when he posted that.
