Re: hmmmmmm

It's a tough choice. S.R. everyone knows. The Silmarillion is less known and so more "in" or cool as you might say. So if you want recognition from only LOTR people your choice is obvious. Think on the book like a geneology of the Ring. It's very boring the first half or so and then it gets into the history that was touched on in the four book LOTR. A reference piece but you don't need the book to enjoy LOTR nor to understand it.

Re: hmmmmmm

Ignore his 'first half' comments, Spock's from another planet. Yes, The Silmarillion comes before the tee-shirt!

I've moved this from the general Middle-earth forum for obvious reasons.

Re: hmmmmmm

That's like asking ' What should I buy? If both the items in question were worth the same price:

A boiled egg from a tramp with lepresy

or

A mercedez benz.

Re: hmmmmmm

....Trust me on this; if you aren't a fanatic and don't enjoy history, especially ancient non-related history; buy the tee shirt.
.....Brilliant!!

....The rest of you; get a life.

Re: hmmmmmm

Non-related my foot. Obviously you haven't read JRR Tolkien's lengthy synopsis/essay on why the Silmarillion and the Lord of the Rings are inseparable.

A life? Nah, I'm too busy being a geek. 8o

Re: hmmmmmm

THAT"S NOT WHAT I SAID. Add "unable to read",to intolerance and dweebness to your qualities list. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">
