Oh! My turn.

How many hobbit children are hoping Gandalf will set off some pre-party fireworks for them on the road to Bag End during his conversation with Frodo?

I'm going to guess six hobbit kids. It could be five or seven as well but we're confined to one number right?

Yes. One number per guess. Six isn't it, and eight isn't either.

Ah... yes, Link. You can guess as many times as you want, but you only guess one thing at a time. It's sort of like your slate is cleaned once your guess is refuted or confirmed.

Looking at various images, I concluded that it was seven.

Awww, man... I have to think up another one?

*I have always been under the impression that only one guess is valid. Second guesses only are okay once the first guess is pronounced wrong. That's how it works with the quote games, and any other trivia games I've heard.

CH, I took your post to mean that you weren't sure what the number was exactly, but that you were going with six as your guess, even though you mentioned seven.

Btw, just making sure that everyone else agrees that I counted correctly, according to the pictures I posted (I couldn't get them to post as actual images, sorry). Seven, right?

Okay. This sure puttered out. Link... I had you pinned as our next poster. Just if you want.

Just to be clear, I am going with the rules of the Quote Game here (modified to exclude the quote part, of course...), but those say that people can guess as many times as they want but only one guess at a time (i.e., Midge guesses X, poster refutes it, Midge postulates T or A, but can only guess one, guesses T, poster refutes, Midge guesses A...) Normally there are other people guessing in that equation and it's rare that someone will get three guesses about one item. It's best to specify what your guess is in each post.

According to the game rules I'm familiar with, Link's up.

Okay! hmmm...

In the Fellowship of the Ring, when Frodo is returned to health, Gandalf tells Frodo the date. What day is it?

I know this, but I'll give it a couple of days to let some other people have a chance at it.
