1. I've learned that anything can be worth dying for... the true question is "What are you willing to live for?"

2. I believe that true religion can only be found by looking into one's self and seeking one's ultimate purpose. For me, this purpose has been summed up in one word, "Love."

3. Dress simple. When you dress extravagantly you invite envy and strive from your neighbors. When you dress simply, you welcome the fact that you are equal to everyone else.

1. Where would you choose to die, if you had that choice?
2. Do you consider yourself free?
3. If you were given the power to slay all your enemies at once, would you do so?

Answered as Maeve, the "infuriating pirate":

1. Death is tricky. I doubt I've any choice in the where and when, if I did that'd be near to suicide and I'm not inclined that way. Where, when and if death does come to me it'd had better be a good, solid sort of death. None of this tragic, could have been prevented, indecisive, permanance optional buisiness. When I'm done, I'll be done.

2. Free? Doesn't exist. I'm my own Captain, and that's a freedom but I've got people depending on me and that's binding. Whatever I am, I chose to be it. Guess you could call that free.

3. I've got it. I haven't.

Questions:

1. In a riddle game, what's the riddle you always ask?
2. Pick your poison: what vice must you indulge in?
3. Under what circumstance do you light every lamp in your house?

1.) I wrote a riddle under my teacher Anarlin, but it is not very good. He aswered it with a chuckle almost immediately:

I entered you and gave you life,
I stirred your lands and brought you strife,
I go to and fro anywhere I please,
I bully waves and dance with trees,
Most the time I'm clear and clean,
But in the cyclone I am seen,
I blanket the world, and fill the sky,
Now, tell me, who am I?

2.) Anarlin taught me that it is not proffitable for a leader to entertain vices of anykind. Hmm, but we all must have faults; mine were for her... but she is beyond my reach now.

3.) They light all the lamps in King Arlinor's palace when they are celebrating... I only light the lamps I have when I feel the darkness is too near.

1.) Who do you consider your role model?

2.) Are you a leader, or a follower, and why?

3.) What is a common superstition amongst your people?

Once more as Hettie
1.) Who do you consider your role model?
My aunts! They are going to teach me real magic when I get older. But first I have to "master" the basics I already know how to light a candle or how to repel bugs!
2.) Are you a leader, or a follower, and why?
Hmm, my aunts always make me follow their orders, but sometimes I can't help it! The forest is so nice! You know, there is a very pretty butterfly in the forest, but it's a very dangerous one. It tried to hurt me.
3.) What is a common superstition amongst your people?
That faeries kidnap children! It isn't the faeries who do that, but the faerish! But no one believes me when I try to explain the difference...

1) What is the strangest creature you've ever met?
2) What's your favourite mode of transportation?
3) Do you pray, and if you do, who do you pray to?

I'll answer as my story character, Ordin.

1) I'd have to say the stangest would have to be the three headed troll I ran into when I was but a young princling!

2) Horse. Or my majestic battle-wagon!

3) Religion? I'd say I pray to the lord.

As Link (he actually speaks in my story)

1) I have definitely seen some pretty strange creatures...but it was quite peculiar seeing Zelda being possesed by Ganon. It was also strange having to defeat her... YAH!
2) Definitely Epona, my horse.
3) I pray to the ancient Gods of Hyrule, who deamed me "The Chosen One"

Huzzah for Link!

As my character Troy Johnson, from The Hidden

1) Leaving my family to try and locate the man who's been threatening me for weeks upon end, to protect my family
2) The last time I was with Ashley before I got captured by Secutor
3) In a far better world, I pray

1: What is your worst personal flaw?
2: Who do you admire?
3: What is your strongest quality?

As Nadia from DragonMaiden
1: What is your worst personal flaw?
My overactive revenge complex. Asiago killed my Maidens and forced me into hiding. He had it coming. There I go again.
2: Who do you admire?
Elnon. He rescued me when my village became a battleground. He taught me all I know.
3: What is your strongest quality?
My strongest? Loyality to what's right. I just about got myself killed quite a few times with that.

3.) Hehe, I'd have to say only Fate could have influenced the course my life has taken.

1.) You're in a fight and things aren't going too well; what's your ace-in-the-hole to ensure victory?

2.) Do you believe in fate? If not, then why?

Hmm, I figure I'll give this a shot, couldnt hurt, anyhow. This isnt so much a character, but close enough. It's from a story I began working on yesterday, as a matter of fact.

1.) I'm not sure. So far, nothing in Creation has been able to know me, much less fight me.

2.) No. I've had a long time to think it over, and that is what I settled on. In fate's place is transcendental intelligence

3.) I've never had enemies, simply prey. Makes for a boring existence.

Mine, now:

1.) Someone you say you love is in peril: If they stay with you, they die, if they leave with a person you hate, they live. Which do you choose? Be honest.

2.) Beef jerky or Turkey jerky?

3.) If you were to ride into battle, what would you prefer to ride on?

My character is my own from one of my stories that's still in progress. (And which I haven't written more of in a long time, but I just read it, so I still know my character.)

1.) Someone you say you love is in peril: If they stay with you, they die, if they leave with a person you hate, they live. Which do you choose? Be honest.
That's really hard. If you really loved the person, they you would want them to live, but then they would be with this weirdo. But if they stay with you, then it wouldn't really work out because they'd be dead, and that wouldn't be very helpful. I would probably have her leave me, and steal her back later.

2.) Beef jerky or Turkey jerky?
Definetely beef jerky. I've actually never had turkey jerky, so I guess I can't really say, but I do like beef jerky. It's so... beefy. Isn't jerky just the weirdest word, though? I mean, it sounds like you're saying the cow or turkey or whatever was a jerk, which I guess you wouldn't really be able to know. Maybe it really was a jerk and all the other cows or whatever were just waiting for him to die off.

3.) If you were to ride into battle, what would you prefer to ride on?
That would be totally random if I were to ride into battle because I live in the city. But I would say a dragon because that would be AWESOME!

1. What was the randomest thing you've ever done?
2. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
3. Describe yourself in one word.

I tried to make my questions something that my character would actually ask.

Not the best questions for this entity, perhaps. But it's so fun!

1.) The most random thing I have ever done? Pehaps the taking of an army of 3000 Chinamen just outside of Bejing at the close of WW2. No reason for it, but I am impulse.

2.) I was never a child. At least not in the sense of most beings. I am what I always was, just bigger. I know little of children, as i am seldom alowed them, but much of what I know comes from the yearning before the final loss, children float to the top somehow... Oh, well. It is inconsequencial.

3.) That is a source of frustration to me. As much as I am able to fathom this world: its deepest depths, and highest hights. I am unable to self-comprehend, I think. I can hunger, want. I am selfish. I am rage. But I am not self-aware, and I know this. Is this a paradox? Maybe. But I cant tell, as I can only plumb the depths of one facet of the conundrum.

Three more:

1.) If you were to give a limb, what would it be for?

2.) someone says to you "Can I ask you a question?", what do you say?

3.) Cat or dog. Which do you prefer, pet-wise?

As Jackson from one of my short stories

1.) If you were to give a limb, what would it be for?
Easy. Freedom

2.) someone says to you "Can I ask you a question?", what do you say?
Of course.

3.) Cat or dog. Which do you prefer, pet-wise?
Hmm. I'd have to say dog. I had one but Dillion killed all the dogs that were trying to protect the village when he invaided.

1. You love someone dearly, but he/she has been promised to another man/woman. What do you do?

2. You are given the choice to fight or flee. Which would you do?

3. How would you describe your family?

This thread is alot of fun to keep up with, we're getting some neat insights into some increasingly fascinating characters, and (probably not the only one) I'm having alot of fun developing my own character, who's dimensions I wasnt really sure about. Thanks for putting up this idea, Aikanaro.

As Willow again:

1. You love someone dearly, but he/she has been promised to another man/woman. What do you do?
I suppose it would depend on the man or woman. I mean, if they were obviously very good for eachother then what right do I have to interfere? But if I knew that they would be better off with me, well... the other man/wpman better look out.

2. You are given the choice to fight or flee. Which would you do?
Both. Possibly at the same time. I've been known to bite an opponant's wings off and then fly away while they were bleeding. I'll do whatever it takes to survive.

3. How would you describe your family?
Powerful and well connected. My parents, my younger brother and sister and myself rule the only autonomous faerie country.
Our older sister married the king of one of our neighbors and our cousin married the king of the other, but she's dead now because there was a curse on all female descendants from her father's side of the family.
My brother misses her a lot. They were the only two of us without wings. Now it's just my brother and he's touchy about it so he spends all his time at sea, commanding our navy.
I used to spend so much time traveling that I didn't really see my sisters or parents as much as I should have, but that changed about a decade ago... someone tried to kill me and did a fairly thorough job, but they didn't know that faeries have double hearts, so I survived.
Of course, my father didn't let me leave the country for years after. Parents are strange that way, they'll let you go gallavanting all over the world in all seasons to stave off political fuss with only words then one little stab wound (all right, big stab wound, even once my wings grew back I couldn't fly without risking heart failure for a long time) and that's when they decide to go protective?
And my mother's just a ditz. Sure she's queen, and yes she might occaisionally be prescient, and I love her, but the lady spends most her time dancing in the meadows and singing about how pretty the flowers are. Hardly useful.

Questions:

1. Of all the mistakes you've made, which one do you still kick yourself for?
2. If you could have chosen your borth order, what would it be? Would you want to be the oldest? The youngest? In the middle somewhere?
3. Describe your archnemesis.

1. Of all the mistakes you've made, which one do you still kick yourself for?
Oversleeping really. I've only had a few fitful meals over the years, and the world is ripe and full now, disgustingly so.

2. If you could have chosen your borth order, what would it be? Would you want to be the oldest? The youngest? In the middle somewhere?
I was the last, and am glad for it.

3. Describe your archnemesis.
He's not really an archnemesis, but He more or less governs what I do. Bit of a nuisance, really.

As Troy Duncan in my Vampire series

1) Who do you pray to, why?
God. I've kept my Catholicism faith even though tradionally we are hunted by that faith. I have seen much in my lifetime. God keeps me from going mad.

2) After some research, who would you have fought for in WW1?
What do you mean? I fought for the Allies. Ever hear of secret weapons?

3) Which has more relevance: the means or the ends?
Hmm. It's really pretty even for me.

1. What is your favorite time of the day?
2. If you could live forever, what would you live for?
3. Are you the giving type?

*As Lathero, from Path of the Prophet*

1. What is your favorite time of the day?
After training (slaving's really more like it!) under my master, Aedhred, nothing beats a nice cold drink while watching Uan set in the west... I never really seem to see her set completely, though... I, uh, tend to pass out first!

2. If you could live forever, what would you live for?
My best friend, Nith, is an Ilndir, an imortal. I sometimes wish we could go back, ya know? That we'd never gone on this terrible adventure... If I could live forever, I think I'd like to go back home and have things be as they once were. Ilndiri look forward to those kinda things, right?

3. Are you the giving type?
Hahaha, well, I kinda gave my life in contract of servitude when I proclaimed I'd be a vassal to King Aeron... it's what got me stuck with my master, Thane Aedhred. "Giving one's life is an honor," my father once taught me, "spend it wisely."

Questions:

1.) What would be the most difficult thing for you to ever part with for eternity? Why?
2.) When is it neccessary to kill, in your eyes? What makes it so neccessary?
3.) When you are faced with the choice of either saving a loved one and completing a mission or task of grave importance, which do you decide to do?
