If you can use your computer with internet to watch anything you want, then yeah, it's easy to get rid of the TV.
The only reason I watch TV when I'm at home is because I enjoy watching Midsomer Murder and the like with my mother while guessing who did it and yelling a lot when one of us turns out to be right or their thoughts on motive or something makes no sense. But my parents don't watch a lot either, so all in all I don't spend much time in front of the TV.

I'm not allowed a TV at my college, so I don't have any problems with it.

I watch TV. I'm a news addict, and my computer doesn't do moving media.

Why should I give it up?

TV's like drugs, you can use it, but you can also abuse it! I don't think watching the news is addiction. At least not TV addiction. News addiction is different.

I cant get rid of my TV- I watch movies on it! Thats all the use it gets though. I havent watched cable in about a year. Screw you Comcast!

No one really needs it anyway. I just have lots of CDs and videos.
My boyfriend absoutely does not watch tv. We rent a lot of movies but we have never had cable hooked up. Does that make us weird?

No, not really, movies and stuff are short and you can watch them at your own convenience, but if you follow series, you have to watch at certain times and you have to watch for 26 weeks or so.

Internet is attractive than TV because internet is interactive and TV only has output. I like both of them.

Local channals: I like to watch warcraft3 matches in gamesTV. I also watch investment related channels because I buy stocks.

English language channals: Actually I watch them for learning english. So I watch CNBC, CNN, BBC the most. Sometimes I watch HBO,CINEMAX though I can't understand what peoples are speaking. Occasionally I watch animax for some cartoons I liked and discovery channal.

I am forever indebted to the BBC for that, the BBC and um... their Star Trek original series re-runs.

Yes, the news program speak english clearly and dulcetly. I can only follow some of it. Discovery T&L has a program called global treker in terms of travelling around the world, which I can follow most.

I take back everything I've said before.

My mom wants to get cable for Christmas. With the sci-fi channel.

So, umm.... if you guys don't see me again, like... ever.... after December 25th, now you know why .

Watching TV is actually when my family does the most chatting with each other. It's pretty rare that there is a show so engrossing, or one that won't be on another twenty times, that it takes everyone's attention.

It's kind of like the twenty-first century version of sitting in front of the fireplace. Something to gather and socialize around.

Yeah, when we're watching something, TV or a movie, I always insist that it's something that no one will mind if we talk though. Video games are especially good for that.
