Thread Serial killer/slowers

Myself and Me9996 can absolutely destroy a thread, I don't know why but I'll post and it will die quick painless death, or will suffer slowly for months or years until someone revives it.

At one time a theory was postulated about a thread slowing ray gun designed and distributed by the Me9996, and according to popular belief, was impounded by the EMPIRE a few days after the first teacup war involving Jedi Vikings and IMPERIALS, after the EMPIRE went underground due to political pressue and member apathy the whereabouts of this item was a mystery to all.

Personally I blame Hector as he is the outgoing president and official scapegoat of entmoot for the next year.

*puts on a 1/20/09 button, representing Hector's last day as president*

But seriously Just watch...this thread will die as soon as I post, In fact I don't even know why I'm writing it, but oh well I guess.

I use to have this same theory back in the day...seemed like my posts were the kiss of death. However, what it really is is posting at a time when everyone is 'done with' posting for the day, and the thread just sinks. Double posting helps.

And don't worry about pushing my buttons...they're all broken by now.

1) You seem quite convinced it is going to die... who is going to kill it?
2) Hector, are you sure all your buttons are broken?
I think this thread fits nicely in my plan to start a coup or something.

Let us keep this thread alive for as long as possible!!

Why is the rum always gone?

You guys aren't thread killers, don't worry about it. What you and Me9996 have is perseverance. You don't get bored easily either. So while other mooters have given up, you guys are still interested in the thread. But you're not going to reply to your own posts either, thus, the high probability that your post is the last one in the thread before it drifts down the main page.

You guys don't kill threads, you just don't lose interest in them. That's my theory.

Besides, no thread can last forever. If it's meant to live, people will post. If it's time to move on, it doesn't matter who posted last.

double posting helps I like that..

and the buttons yeah, broken would be the word, broken record. Mainly as an outgoing president you're just a smokescreen for the other candidates so the voters don't actually think about what they're putting in office. We couldn't have that for a moment.

I think you give yourselves too much credit. Sometimes a discussion is just done, and no comment is good enough to restart it until more time has passed or new people are interested in discussing it. I know there are a few threads out there where I'm the last person to post.

The only thing you can say is that you have a good, or lousy timing.

Some threads are never alive to start with.

Maybe those are the ones that draw you?

Eh, not sure what you mean by that, sis.

Threads that were never alive, would be threads with no posts whatsoever? I look over most new threads, but seldom am the first one to reply.

I think sis is refering to threads that don't get much replies, except from people who have nothing better to do than type a reply.

Um, I wouldn't have put it that way. I was using the "you" generically, and suggesting that some threads just aren't rip-snorters.

Myself, I'm fascinated to discuss anything involving Bruce Campbell, but I don't expect those to go big.

I'm on a bit of a Pirates high, having recently seen all three of them for the first time within a span of less than 24 hours.
