From a tourist's perspective, when I one day visit New York City I'd love to see those tall and aesthetically impressive skyscrapers - Freedom tower and all - that they're planning to build. It would be a shame if the city chose not to do anything creative now that they have the opportunity to build architectural wonders at such an attractive piece of land in lower Manhattan.

As a tourist I wouldn't give a nickel about whether it's good or not for the city's economy.

I don't see why it wouldn't be good for the economy though. Space is at a premium in NYC, that's why they maximize it vertically.

Seeing the towers would be just lovely, and I'm sure they will have a very positive impact on New York's economy. But the defenses they're putting in the building right now can only defend it against modern attacks. Terrorists' technology twenty years from now might be much worse, their abilities more extensive. Freedom Tower would be a prime target.

I love the idea of Freedom Tower, a very beautiful design, an upright message and a positive economic push for the city, but it also would be one of the first places terrorists would look to, when plotting an attack. That means the lives of those working there will be in substantial danger.
