I've seen all the EE's so many times now I can't count the times. Actually this is not bragging, it's just straight laziness as in I should be finding more productive things to do with my time lately. Hmm, maybe I'll re-read the LotR--AGAIN. Tolkien gave the world one of the most preccciousss gifts when he created the BEST tool ever for pleasant procrastination. LOVED FotR, just wish it was even longer and had more of the book in it. HATED the stupid "Witch King on Nazgul freaks out Gandalf then flies off" bit in RotK.

Well, the Cinerama did run the three theatrical editions back to back a few weeks ago. I didn't go. So I guess the best experience I had was the 'Trilogy Tuesday' when I saw the EE Fellowship, and EE Two Towers in the theater before first screening of Return of the King. Was hoping for a three EE theater showing, and not just a DVD projector screen showing.

I bought the extended edition FotR last week; it's something I like to pop in the DVD player whenever I'm feeling down, or want to relax. I just like to hear it running sometimes, most notably the Lothlorien stuff. In fact, I've got it on right now. Think I'll go back to it, actually; they're about to get all their presents from Galadriel and I love this part.

Hey, you guys, this is slightly off-topic but I have to find out: When Peter Jackson first cast Aragorn, who was the actor he cast, who ended up being replaced by Viggo Mortensen at the last minute? I ask because I've always wanted to know...

Only 15. You're a young fangirl and young fangirls have stamina. One would be surprised to hear of a fangirl failing in this exercise.

*bump*

So has anyone else done this yet?

We actually started the marathon at our house a few months ago - hubby out of town (he's not a huge fan like the rest of us), nice rainy day, popped popcorn - got partway through and then the stupid DVD player broke!

Oh well ... maybe sometime this summer we'll try again. I'm sure I wouldn't stay in my seat the whole time, but it would be fun to just have it on back to back, straight through. My least fav. one is TT - I get tired of the Rohan music.
