John Birmingham's Weapons of Choice.
It's about a 21st century multinational naval force which has a research ship in their midst.
Somehow a malfunction of the experimental equipment aboard the research ship (which explodes btw) causes the whole force to be transported to 1942 just as the American Navy is about to engage the Japanese at Midway. |
