There was a huge debate among the Valar about that though. Marriage is supposed to be binding, and MÃ*riel was supposed to return among the Living, death being an unnatural thing for the Eldar. So really FinwÃ« was allowed to remarry because MÃ*riel refused to return, right?

Many of the Elves who died before the Great Journey or many of the Avari are said to have remained in Mandos, having no desire to live again. So Imin and IminyÃ« may have lived together in Mandos until the end of Time, it's possible.

This is off the main topic, but I have a question:

What is Mandos like?

Do you have a physical body there?

Can you live happily, or do you spend all your time sitting around (floating around?) and being introspective?

I'm sure somebody smart must know the answer to at least some of these questions.

Whoa, wait a sec, if Elrond was Aragorns uncle, whouldnt that mean that arwen was his cousin? that cant be right...?

elrond is not aragorn's uncle

he is his great great great great ..............uncle

elrond is immortal, elros his brother was mortal and aragorn is a descendant of elros

the question i have for the more knowlegdeable is

what was the relationship between elendil ( aragorn's ancestor) and ar-pharazon the last king of numenor

were they BOTH direct descedants or were they something else

Not to mention, that Numenorian law stated that Decendants of Elros could only marry among eachother to keep the length of their lives longer.
