I am positive that the population of the various countries are the same as any one else, however, the governments are always attempting to get an upper hand over over countries, particularly those not in this loose franco-germanic alliance. I apologise if I caused any offence, that was not my intent. |

About the European constitution
I’m still studying it, so I’ll reserve my final opinion. But in relation to what I think about it: It is a compromise, and therefore, not truly revolutionary; nor it could be, especially with 10 new countries. But it will go on evolving, I believe we will have a new one in less then ten years, after all, this one is just the natural evolution from Maastricht and Rome treaties before it. I disagree it is a to long and cumbersome. First, it is not truly a constitution, it is more a international treaty, regulating the interaction between members, in the most complex international organization ever created. The idea was to bring forth much of the existent legislation, created over the years, in a single, manageable document, and it seems to get that right. Plus, It have also to consider different jurisprudence tradition, the Anglo-Saxon one, that some naturally appreciate, as their own, is not dominant in most Europe, and therefore it should not be expected that it would be followed.
