I got it last night as a belated B-Day Present.

It's tres cool!

There are many rules and ways to play added from normal risk.

I got it for Christmas but haven't played it yet. I've actually only played Risk once (when I was a kid). My brother loved it, so I might give him the LotR one I got. It looks like fun, though, so I might have to play it once before I let him have it!

my brother got that for xmas too. i like the normal risk, but i'm not so crazy about the LOTR risk. there's just something about it that's different, and makes it not as enjoyable.
i got LotR Trivial Pursuit! that's awesome! my only quam is that all the questions are about the movies instead of the books.

I got the LOTR versions of Trivial Pursuit and Monopoly for Xmas. I would play the Trivial Pursuit game if I could find someone that could play against me. Most of the questions I saw were quite easy and were from the movies, not books (like that would've happened anyway). I've played the monopoly and it is quite cool; I was Aragorn and of course my wife had to be Leggy. One of these days I'll get some friends together and play the T.P. game. I think it'd be awesome to play when you're drunk! At least it would make it a little fair for the amateur fan.

I got the LOTR Risk (Trilogy) this winter, and I think it is a very good game. It has a functional turn limit, which makes it avoid the main issue with regular Risk, which is interminable games. But it keeps the good gameplay. I like it. The only potential problem is that it seems to be biased a bit towards Evil.

Actually, at Borders I saw a The Lord of the Rings books trivia game. I got so excited until I remembered the difference between the price and the amount of money in my wallet. It was not the happiest moment in my life; neither was it the saddest.

More than a bit, I'd say. I think it's because the evil players get all the really strategic location things. Most of the evil territories are all lumped together in one place and those that aren't are set in exactly the right places to make it impossible for the people playing as good to effectively fortify their borders.

I also think that the dice are loaded somehow but I can't prove that.

Got the trivia game today (games store going out of business, everything half off) hope it is good.
Risk is not as imbalanced towards Evil as it seemed at first... it just has a steeper learning curve for Good. Evil is easier, that is (well, we knew that already).
