I personally like hockey the best (having played all my life)

But another great American sport is Lacrosse. It's a really great mix of soccer/hockey. Fast-paced and rough and everything. I'm actually surprised that it doesn't have more attention over here. Probably because most people just think of it as a high school game for some reason.

What do you mean? New Jersey has TWO professional Lacrosse teams. it's the other states that aren't into Lacrosse. I think lacrosse is a cool game. As you said - it's fast paced.

Hockey isn't played much down here. Not enough ice. But in larger cities, like Houston and Dallas, there are many ice hockey rings for kids to play on. However, they are expensive to join.

There are several teams in Texas. Some are NHL.

Texas Wildcatters, Beaumont (ECHL)
Dallas Stars (NHL)
Austin Ice Bats (CHL)
Corpus Christi ?; San Angelo ?; San Antonio ?; and many more...
Only one NHL team that I know of, though.

We have that in Britain too, but I always thought only girls at boarding school played it, like in Enid Blyton Then I met some girls who played it at uni and they were tougher than the rugby team

While the strange starfish, hugely magnified,
Waits in the jewelled basin of a pool.

Actually, Sun Star, LaCrosse is an American sport originated by the Native Americans in North America, and picked up by the settlers that came here as they interacted, traded and lived among the Native Americans. It has since been exported to your country. The name "LaCrosse" comes from French (jeu de) la crosse meaning "(game of) the hooked stick."

Misunderstanding. I was only giving some history to the sport. I never thought you said your people invented it. I don't think it's a game that is well known across the world, I thought it would be of interest to know where it came from and a little LaCrosse trivia, that's all.

Isn't there also 'men's lacrosse'? Like full padding and contact? Is it true it gets played in a box like ice hockey is? That would be soo cool!!

The game was originally a man's sport, and very rough.

Yeah as Sun-Star said, the image is very much as a fierce boarding school game like grass hockey.
