Likenesses
I was wondering if using the likenesses of the LOTR actors and the LOTR music in a fan trailer for a fan fiction is illegal, and if New Line will Hunt me down for it. Thanks

I don't know, but one factor would be if you intend to make money off it. If you don't I'm sure you'd be okay.

Technically, I believe you need permission, but I wouldn't worry about it. As Nurvingiel pointed out, if you're not making money on it, I doubt they would take notice.

Where are you going to use the trailer Yodaman? That might make a difference too.

I'm going to make a website for it and post that link on my website.
