Dissapearing Easterlings?

I cant work out where all the east-folk went in the RoTK. In TTT you see a great deal walking through the black gate, and hear Faramir speaking of thousands more, but in the movie RoTK you only see about 10 Mumakil ( and what, 8 soldiers on each? so thats 80 of them accounted for ). Where did all the other easterlings armies go??

Maybe its obvious? someone put me straight please...

It made sense that there weren't very many Mumakil - I can only imagine how hard it would be to raise one and train it for war.

Not all parts of such a giant battle can be shown, and it was implied that they were at the battle. I think you can see the rest of the army on foot behind the Mumakil.

I didn't really notice, but I do think the scene suggests a larger battle going on the background.

I was disappointed that no mention was made of the other battles in Middle-Earth (Lorien, Lonely Mountain, etc.). I can see why PJ didn't want to film them, but I was surprised none of the characters mentioned it. I always liked the thought of the war being fought all across the world.

Why didnt PJ want to film them out of interest? Does that mean they wont b in the EE either? Thats a bit annoying.

Dont tell me what I cannot do

Two men are on a Island, they both see a "monster", one sees a bright light, and the other sees a dark cloud

My name bares no reference to the music artist.

I guess he didn't have time. (Why didn't he film the Scouring? *goes off muttering*)

That was why they brought the Elven soldiers to Helm's Deep. To show that the battles included others. Then again they should have brought Dwarves too

In the books there was like only a few sentences that even mentioned it, and I think that may even have only been in the Appendices. Besides, that would have totally taken away from the theme and storyline, because you can't just film a random battle without introducing new characters. Without introducing characters, no one would care about those battles enough and these scenes would have been counter-productive and could have taken away from the story we know more...

In this place will I abide, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world.'

'Then Tuor arrayed himself in the hauberk, and set the helm upon his head, and he girt himself with the sword; black were sheath and belt with clasps of silver. Thus armed he went forth from Turgon's hall, and stood upon the high terraces of Taras in the red light of the sun. None were there to see him, as he gazed westward, gleaming in silver and gold, and he knew not that in that hour he appeared as one of the Mighty of the West, and fit to be father of the kings of the Kings of Men beyond the Sea, as it was indeed his doom to be; but in the taking of those arms a change came upon Tuor son of Huor, and his heart grew great within him. And as he stepped down from the doors the swans did him reverence, and plucking each a great feather from their wings they proffered them to him, laying their long necks upon the stone before his feet; and he took the seven feathers and set them in the crest of his helm, and straightway the swans arose and flew north in the sunset, and Tuor saw them no more.' -Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin
