Pippin and Sam are my absolute faves!!! The only trouble is, I can never make up my mind which one I like better. Today it's Pippin. He's so cute and I so totally love his accent!! It might be Sam tomorrow, though.

How can I take this losing hand and somehow win?

I've been chasing grace; Grace ain't so easily found
One bad hand can devil a man, chase him and carry him down.
I've got to get out of here, just give me One Good Year!

My ultimate fravourite character has to be Arwen.....i know she isnt a HUGE role in the whole epic BUT i just love the mystery behind her and the power that she has/could have. It would be GREAT if she began the trilogy witht hem and joined the fellowship. how kewl would that be

+ i just LOVE elves the WHOLE race,.........i'd marry Legolas LOL (shallow)

I didn’t even know this awesome world of Tolkien even existed until my sister recommended the movie, said it was ‘pretty good’ I corrected her later. But, going in I had no preconceived ideas of who was who or who should be like what. But by the time the hobbit foursome got to Bree, I was on the edge of my seat and entranced by the magic of the story. By the time it left theaters I had seen it ten times and read the trilogy and the hobbit.
When Legolas rode in on his horse, I had my favorite, at first because of looks, I admit, but then as the movie progressed and my knowledge of the character grew I loved him more for the character and not Orlando’s looks. And despite some peoples opinions, I think Orlando did the best possible job with Legolas as anyone could hope for, considering PJ had the character wound tighter than a barb wire fence. I just got to say that, Elves leave all other characters, and races, in the dust, sorry fans.
And way underneath Legolas and Orlando, Aragorn is my next favorite, especially when Viggo says, “if by my life or death, I can protect you, I will.” I nearly die every time he says it, it is my favorite line in both movies, and its not even Legolas’ line! The rugged, survival, loyal, daring, lets hunt and kick some orc butt attitude sold me on him.
Next, I would have to say the hobbits, they are so innocent and trusting. Oblivious to the danger they are walking into, and yet they remain so loyal and true to their word, duty, and friends through the whole thing, I love that. I don’t have a favorite hobbit, I will die not knowing which one I like the best, they are equal in my sight, all totally awesome. Actors, they did awesome, Orlando, Viggo, Elijah, Sean, Billy, Dominic, Sean Bean, Ian Mckellen, Ian Holm, Cate, Miranda, Brad, Carl, David, Hugo...my gosh, Hugo, agent smith, he is awesome beyond words, no other could do Elrond, none.
But Liv Tyler, there may not be a single other person to agree with me here, but oh well, I’ll live, I hate Liv in the roll of Arwen, I don’t know why and I have no reason to, I just don’t like the was she portrays her, maybe I saw her in one too many movies, maybe I’m intimidated, jealous, say whatever you like, but I still don’t like her. However, I don’t mind watching other movies wit her, its just this one, the one, the bestest and most important movie.
I don't think I missed any major actor/ actress but if I did, I include them too. I could go on for days without stopping. you don't ever want to get me started on my favorite and least favorites unless you don't have anything planned for the next forty- eight hours. Its long I know, Sorry Gir, you asked......

West, west away, the round sun is falling.
Grey ship, grey ship, do you hear them calling,
The voices of my people that have gone before me?
I will leave, I will leave the woods that bore me;
For our days are ending and our years failing.
I will pass the wide waters lonely sailing.
Long are the waves on the Last Shore falling,
Sweet are the voices in the lost Isle calling,
In Eresëa, in Elvenhome that no man can discover,
Where the leaves fall not: land of my people forever!”

Mallondwen, I love your story. It brought back the first times I read the books, and when I saw the movie (seems like awhile ago now.)
Frodo is my favorite, but Samwise is a close second. Honor and loyalty.

I must say Haldir is my favorite. Craig Parker did a great job even if it wasnt a huge part. I've always loved the wilderness and woods and i think its facinating to devote your life to defending your people. Especally if there elves. I also love magic and elves facinate me. Go Haldir!!!!

Pippin is my favorite character because he is so funny! Him, Merry, Frodo, and Sam make the best team ever. Loyalty, bravery, humour, and perserverence(sp?) would have to be the words I would use to describe them. All of the hobbits have a little of all if not alot. I liked the hobbits in the books and in the film just because of their personalities.
