Precisely.

An example of a fantasy which is pretty ripped off of Tolkien is the Sword of Shannara. While I found it to be enjoyable and well-written, it was really quite a close copy of the Lord of the Rings. Fortunately, Brooks has not fallen into this error with his later works.
