The Dark Elf Trilogy

Has anyone read the Dark Elf trilogy? I really enjoyed them. Not the highest quality writing, but it has an original plot.

It was all right. Though I'm not overly fond of the "game fanfic" type books.

But I doubt the story was that original. I mean, surely somebody's done "bad guy goes good, is exiled from badland", before?

Yeah, I see your point, and also there are parts with High Elves and Dwarfs, etc. I still enjoyed it though.

Don't remember high elves...surface elves, yes, but not high elves.

But that's only natural, as surface elves, dwarves, and barbarians are all parts of the world in which it is set: that is, Faerun, Toril, the Forgotten Realms, whatever you wanna call it.

ah yes, sorry, high elves are from The Shadow War trilogy, besides LotR, not Dark Elf. Yea, i haven't read any other forgotten realms, but I think ther are a bunch of them. But we all know that Tolkien was the base on which modern fantasy is written.

"a bunch" is a wee bit understating it, I think. Especially if you count FR-related DND books, or DND books in general.

Of course. Isn't he the base on which ALL was founded?

[rant]Stupid Salvatore stole my idea! I had an idea for a "good-guy Dark-Elf" (though mine was the child of an High-Elf mother who was violated by an invading Dark-Elf; has the soul of a High-Elf and the physical form of a Dark-Elf), but then I read Salvatore's books! Damn him! Damn Drizzt! Damn them all! Why does everyone steal my ideas??? Even worse, before I have them! [/rant]
