What do you think of this particular series?

One of the first series I read as a kid ( there wasn't much fantasy in those days) and I really enjoyed the first few, but kind of lost interest (same with Pellucidar).

Not consistent or well-thought out, but does have that visceral appeal.

I read some of them about 15 years ago (so I donĀ“t remember much of them..), and I remember thinking that back then they were quite entertaining. They could hold interest pretty well.
