Samwise, Frodo's sword didn't actually contact with him. It just went through his apparel.

Most of you are working under the assuption the never broken phrase is an averment ofr fact, when is is most likely motivational or aspirational. "Our Team will go undefeated", well maybe, maybe not.

If dragonfire, for example, doesn't count as "battle", or a smack upside the head from grond, then what does? Quote:

Weathertop
I just read the Weathertop Chapter last week and I think that Frodo only cut the Black Rider's Robe.
I don't think the book stated that he actually stabbed Nazgul Flesh. Otherwise the Sword would have broken like Merry's. |

I think that was pretty much spelled out with Strider saying (to the best of my memory) , while holding the bit of robe "This is the only hut which you did him, I am afraid, because all blade which touch him perish"

I would believe that neither Glamdring,Orcrist or Sting could be broken. However, I do believe that they could be Unmade, like The One Ring could be Unmade.

Yah
Yah you probably can break them then. Especially if we have agreed that destroyed is the same as broken.
