would you rather be the champion of a team or indivivdual sport

which sport and why?

at one time i would have said team and ice hockey

because it has speed, power, and finesse and the group feeling of accomplishment magnified is great.

but now I would say Wu Shu. because i'm far more solitary in a manner of speaking than i have ever been and this one of the few disciplines that i still any sort of feeling for

Formula One. Although it is a combination of individual/team effort, the outcome is skewed toward the abilities of the driver.

Solitary. I get off more on personal achievements and endeavors, than team ones. And if I had to choose a sport, I suppose it would be taekwondo - I was good at that once.

In terms of abilities, it builds up confidence, strength, flexibility, quick thinking, temerity, and inner strength.

I dunno. I guess I just really enjoy driving.

Yesterday I was aqua-plaining at 135 km/h during a bend on the freeway. Instead of freaking out, I emmersed myself in the pleasure of catching the car before it slid into the barrier.

Terrifying? No. Terrific.

I would want to be the champion of an individual sport, although this sport can be team as well: dressage. Why?: I love it! I'm somewhat reasonably good at it!

I'm not a "sports" person, but I like fun questions! I'd like to be on a championship basketball team because it would be more fun to rejoice with others, the team work part would take extra effort and mean more than just atheletic skill, also the intelligence to work together. I pick Bball cause I'm from Indiana and if I was a championship Bball player, I would have fabulous cardio vascular stamina and be a bit of a "bad" a** which would be fun. I would also be rich!!! Basketball is a lot of fun.

This is because in high school (I just graduated two months ago & miss it already...sniff) I was an excellent wrestler on a great team.

I like wrestling because a single wrestler goes on the mat at one time to prove his worth by racking up points for the whole team.

Well.... I don't know what you would call Gymnastics.

You are part of a team but you are all alone and have the spot light on you alone for the whole time you are out there.

I quit gym

I'm tall enough that the coaches won't help me do the stuff any more and also here the gym I went to wasn't very good. Coaches goofing off and such.

But I can still dream about it right?

edit: (sorry, forgot the why) Because when I was out there doing the stuff I felt so cat like and graceful, even something simple can look and feel so awesome to the people who don't know it. And I enjoy entertaining people, showing off a little

like saying without words "Hey, check this out. Looks cool don't it? I love doing this."

YES! another horse person!! individual sport for me too, cuz the only sports i like are riding and kickboxing which are mostly individual. If i could, being the best junior jumper in canada would be nice lol, although i'm becoming interested in endurance riding!

Easy! Team sport, and rugby league.

I always found plenty of individual challenges in each game (I'm knocking him over, he's not getting past me, I'm not dropping that pass, etc) but there was always a special buzz when the team clicked - when moves you'd trained for came off, when the talking on the pitch was good, when you all hit the bar afterwards.

Oh and rugby league cos it's 80 minutes of exhausting, no hiding place collision sport with room for plenty of skill. I was always really good at being exhausted, ok at the collisions but the skill part always evaded me!

it would have to be for a team. Team sports are so much more fun that individuals i love all the crack that you get with a team sport.

Its nice to share the glory as well. you can still attain great honor in a team sport. the perfect example is the greatest sportsman to ever live the one and only Micheal Jordan

Heya, shadowfax and erawyn- I ride horses too!! You guys should seriously talk to Elenka, though, she's really into them.

I would be individual - and I'd run. Track, cross country, whatever. I love to run -- leave the world behind and challenge myself to do better than my opponent -- me.

I'm a loner to begin with -- no clique or little group of friends, just one girl my age at school, my teacher, and Elenka(who lives across town from me) and that's about it. But not only am I not friends with the others, I don't know them. If I'm lucky, I could tell you their names. A year and some has gone by and I have made very little attempts to meet the others. I'd like to run away from them all.
