i'm on a much needed 3 week vacation in thailand AND i found a copy of the SIL here

so i'll finally get some REAL knowledge about it

As for actual favourite parts, there are two that I have noticed very much move me. One of them is one of yours, Bacchus, 'Day shall come again!'. The other is AulÃ«'s words to God before he prepares to destroy his most cherished makings. I read it aloud to myself once, it's like one of those bad dreams where the saddest thing possible happens and you're hit with what you know to be True. [The difference being with a nightmare you wake up and realize it was indeed True (Real), but only as a dream, naturally {dreams after all being part of the Reality we live in}. With the Silmarillion passage, the deepest feeling of sorrow is turned to joy.]
