Favorite Scene in FOTR

What's everyone's favorite scen in FOTR? Mine is the beggening chapter 37(I believe) were Aragorn tells Frodo to run, and then just walks out to the hundreds of Orcs, calm as can be, and starts chopin' some heads off! That scene I wouls say, has to be the best.

One of my favorites is the Council of Elrond, I just liked that scene. I also liked when Gandalf was riding into The Shire and when he got to Bag End. Bilbo's big green door with a doorknob in the center... But who can really pick ONE favorite scene?? Those are just the first two that came to mind!

Way too many that I liked! Gandalf bumping his head (I think Afro Elf said he hated this!), Bilbo with the cheese in his mouth, The scenes with the "shoe shots", the black Rider's scary boot, the Urak hai feet running, Saruman doing that creepy finger thing over the palantir.

I heard that Ian Mckellen accidentally bumped his head on the beam and they kept it in.

It's mentioned in one of the commentaries for the extended edition, according to some spoiler reports I've read.

My favourite scene is the one on Weathertop. I also like the Long Expected Party and the one when they pass the Argonath

I love the Isengard scenes, you know, they over-all shots of the whole of Isengard, with its underground mines and than up to the very top of Orthanc where Gandalf sits down. The birth of the Uruk-hai is quite cool as well as Saruman`s little chat with them and Lurtz. The ripping down of the trees is also funtastic as well as the clouds-been send to the Misty mountains scene. So other said, I just love every scene of Isengard.
And off-course I also enjoy the Moria scenes quite a lot. The great-hall shot...simply marvelous and than the countless Orks surrounding the fellowship whereafter the Balrog shows up, wauw!!! The dead-scenes are however the best, Gandalf falling down, tears in my eyes. And when Boromir dies I, oooh!
Owh, before I forget, I also love the first meeting of the black rider with the hobbits at the tree-trunk scene, hell-scary it is! The prologe is off-course also marvelous.

It's so hard to think of my favourite scenes - it's at least a (very, very long) month since I saw the film. Boromir's death was fantastic, and I like the part right at the beginning where the Shire music starts and you see the Shire for the first time . I also like the little bit where Frodo's accent slips, just because it's funny

What part does his accent slip? I must have missed that. Lol

I *love* all of the scenes in the shire. I also *love* the rivendell scenes. Its just so beautiful and exactly how I pictured it. I think that the scene that Aragorn shows Frodo and Sam the statues of the two kings (on the river before Boromir dies) and I thought that they all did the scenes when they're leaving moria very well, especially when Gandalf dies. But probably my fave part is when Aragorn tells them all to get up after Gandalf dies cuz they have to leave and Frodo is just in la la land over there, and Aragorn is like "frodo! frodo!" and then I LOVE the face Frodo gives him. It is a TOTAL go to hell look! I love it!

Really? That's funny, because I interpreted it differently, that Frodo doesn't even see Aragorn because he's thinking about Gandalf - that's why the tear.

I also want to know where his accent slips.

I like the scene right after the first firework where all the Hobbits rush in to dance, hobbits in there element. I also laugh really hard when Merry and Pippin are argueing about who will "stick it in the ground" sort of thing I imagine Merry and Pip really would do.

Cummon Sun star out with it...where does Elijah mess up?

One of my favorite scenes is when Merry and Pippin are having sword practice with Boromir...it shows Boromir as something more then an aloof jerk...it shows him as truely human and kind...it also gives him a reason to try to save Merry and Pippin from the orcs. I think it's really cool. I also like the part where Merry and Pippin rush the orcs and the looks of rage and greif on their faces are so heartbreaking...and all because they want to save Boromir.
I also like the scenes where Sam takes that one step towards Frodo and you get the impression that Sam is more then he appears, the same happens at the river and at the Emyn Muil when Sam follows Frodo and shows himself to be a pillar of hope when he says "We may Mister Frodo...we may". I LOVE that.
Well I have to go,
Cheers,
Sam

My favourite scene has to be in Lothlorien when Legolas turns to the hobbits when asked about what the elves are singing about Gandalf and he says "I do not have the heart to tell you. For me the grief is still to near." I think its the one of the most tender moments in the whole thing and really shows the elven sensitivity even though Legolas is such a strong and formidable warrior. Mx

I may be remembering it wrong, but when Gandalf is leaving to find out about the Ring, Frodo says something like "but you've only just arrived" in an accent which is not quite consistent. Still, one mistake in a three-hour film isn't bad!
