Galadriel's Gifts

OK, this question has been bugging me for a while now. Did Sam and Frodo get their gifts from Galadriel in the movie, even though it wasn't shown? I know they all got their cloaks, but did Sam get the box of earth and did Frodo get the Phial? (Maybe I missed it all three times.) I can understand if Sam didn't get the dirt because I've heard they're cutting the Scouring of the Shire anyway. But, if Frodo didn't get the Phial how will they make it through Shelob's lair?

We see G give Frodo the phial before they leave Lorien.

The director's cut contains the gift-giving scene, but in the theater version there's only a flashback of Frodo getting the phial.

PJ held some sort of Q&A at a bookstore in NYC. It was there that he said that the gift giving scene would be in the special edition of LOTR due out on DVD in October or November I think it was. The theatrical release on DVD is due out in Aug.....or is it May.

Whatever the dates it will show up eventually. I do not think however that what is being given and to whom is clear yet.

We heard about the phial, I remember her (Galadriel) misprouncing Earendil (can't figure out how to put the dots above a) But no dirt.

Galadriel just pronounced Erendil not earendil. The two dots above the a just makes the vowl sound longer.

Anyhow, Galadriel gives Frodo the phial and the fellowship somehow manage to get the elven cloaks and broaches but since they are cutting the scouring of the shire there is not dirt for sam.
I WANT THE SCOURING OF THE SHIRE- IT IS MY FAVOPURTIE PART!

I think they could manage Sam's dirt and mallorn seed even without the Scouring. He could just plant it somewhere. . .

I read in an interview (and once again I can't cite my sources) with Peter Jackson in which he said the expanded DVD (he doesn't like the phrase "Director's Cut,") will include the "gift-giving scene." I can't wait to see it!

Oh, and about the pronunciation of Earendil, it seems like it would be really hard to pronounce properly, unless I'm getting it all wrong. . .I just say it the way Galadriel does in the movie.
