silmarillion movie

if the silmarillion was made into a movie, what actors(actresses) do you think would play the parts?

Well, I saw American Psycho yesterday, and the entire time I was thinking Christian Bale would make a perfect Feanor.

Agent Smith of course would have to play Elrond.

The majority of the Valar would look similar to elves, but I am at a loss when it comes to the actual casting.

Morgoth I think would be entirely CGI after he lost his ability to change shape.

Cate would play Galadriel.

I can't really think of any others atm. Bye for now.

i was thinking deniro for morgoth b/f he lost his shape. remember him in angel heart, with long dark hair and the long pointed fingernails.
maybe james earl jones for the voice of eru. the downside is that i would see darth vader everytime he spoke or think of cnn.
feanor is the hardest for me to choose. someone with a strong presence, intense with some stage experience. sean bean comes to mind unfortunately.

my head is starting to hurt, arghh.

I think Al Pacino would have been a good Feanor if he were a little younger.

good choice. remember the guy that was the ringmaster in beyond thunderdome , the one that had the staff. he would make a good morgoth.

Tom Cruise would make a great Fëanor. For some reason I picture Denzel Washington in the Manwe role.

You refer to Alan Rickman, Dwarven Sen.

I believe there is a great thread previously, that said the A Silmarillion movie should be split into 9 movies.

I have nothing to add for your collection of actors but I was thinking about how many time will be the moovie. I thought... and I made a decision-the moovie cannot be more then 100 hours.

Well if we take the next two films to be approx three hours each, thats nine hours to about ten years(how long did it take frodo to leave the shire?). The sil. covers approx 6000 years. thats alot of hours.5400 to be precisely approx. Cool!

We are plenty liberated without you. Has it occurred to you that we like talking about Tolkien's works?

I imagine Cate Blanchett would play Galadriel, but I have no other ideas.
