sea monkeys

i was recently on a field trip with some japanese exchange students for being a buddy and showing them the culture of canada. in return i got a freee field trip to the aquarium with them at the aquarium and ended up with some sea monkeys. they have recently hatched and are shooting around all over the place and i was wondering if anyone else has had them

Also i know they are childish but i wanted to see if they were really little brine shrimp and not fake little peices of crap

Yes, they're real .

I had some for a while, but trust me they get boring very quickly. There isn't much to do with them, and they're not even pretty like aqarium fish, although once they get bigger (about 1/3-1/2 of an inch long) they look 'strange' which could be a factor for some people .

I dunno, I'd rather have a dog .

Cool - i used to feed them to my saltwater fish. Lion fish will only eat live fish (smaller lionfish eat brine shrimp)- sometimes they can be taught to eat frozen - but it takes a while.

LOL
I had Sea Monkeys years ago. I thought they were the coolest thing.....for about a week. After that they.....well they only do so much. I think they had babies, which was kind of interesting.

Sea monekys rock. I remember having tanks full of them. And when they died or the water got all cloudy I'd make my mom buy more. I don't know whay I was fascinated with them for so long, but I wish I had some more right now.

I know - they did nothing, yet I really want more of them. After they die you're suposed to be able to let the water evaporate, and then your left with the crystals at the bottom. Adding water to that should bring them back to life. But don't be as impatient as me. I think your meant to have the special stuff to go in the water - unlike me who just filled the thing with tap water.

They died.

Never had any sea monkeys, although I think they would probably be interesting.

Btw, does anyone remember the short-lived early-90's TV show "The Amazing Live Sea-Monkeys"? I was 7 or 8 at the time, but I remember that there were three life-sized sea monkeys as the main characters of that show. Yeah, it was weird.

Sea Monkeys. One of the biggest rip offs ever perpetrated on humanity. I remember getting the whole sea monkey life system deal when i was like 8 and thinking how nifty it was to have these eentsy plankton like creatures swimming around in a tiny little bowl with stickers on it. The thrill lasted about a week before you realize ok thats it? And then a few years later I realized that you could buy 50 times as many "sea monkeys" (brine shrimp) for like 1/100th the cost. And that the only thing they are good for is feeding them to your fish. What a rip off! I heard the makers made millions and millions selling the stuff. Whish I coulda come up with that idea... Hm how does "Soil Apes" sound? Blood worms almost look like apes....
