Elvish Questions
I just have one question- can Elves have affairs with another Elf while they are in love/married? Just wondering.

tolkien's view of elves and relationships was very strict... even divorce seems to be somewhat unheard of, so i would think that affairs would be too... as a matter a fact, even sex among elves seems to be very rare and geared towards procreation only... of course, he was very catholic

For a somewhat cheeky description of elves and sex you might want to check out.
http://www.ansereg.com/what_tolkien_...y_said_abo.htm ex.: "Then again, he does mention that Celeborn was “the lover of Galadriel, who she later wedded.” This comment does date back to an early set of notes when Celeborn’s name, in Quenya, was Teleporno. You can see why he changed that one." (History of Galadriel and Celeborn, UF)

I have another Q about elves: In the ROTK appendicies, it said Galadriel tore down the walls of Dol Gulur. How can she rip down wall unless with magic? And does Celeborn have a sword?

I imagine. Why wouldn't he? Most Elf Lords did in those troubled times, I think.

And I don't think anyone would survive either the first or the second age in Middle-earth without a sword.

I also have a q that's sort of Elf related but it's more man related- What can Narsil/Andruil do? If can kill ghosts, what other bad a$$ qualities does it have? Can it deflect a Balrog sword? Etc? Thanks

Or at least nothing I can think of right now (though it did manage to kill Sauron).

In ROTK movie Aragorn deflected the King of the Dead's sword blow and held the sword up to his throat, so I think it can kill ghosts. I don't remember that in the book, though...

Never trust movie canon! I don't recall that in the books either, I suspect it was added for dramatic effect.

Thanks ____________________________________ As for killing ghosts, I think you may be thinking of Viggo's initial encounter with the King of the Dead (movie green slime), but remember, that's PJ's take on things. I don't know that it had any special powers. In the complete guide to Middle-earth Robert Foster comments: "Because of its heritage and its bearer, and because of its great brightness, Anduril quickly became a famous weapon." Of course other swords (including Guthang, Sting, and Merry's sword) had interesting properties, so I imagine it's possible Anduril had some such Elvish or Dunedain imbued special property).
