There is a new poll up. I have added a poem by Tesseract to Rivendell as well as pictures of a Hobbit egg by Nancy Annand to Lothlorien.

We have decided to push back the end of the Middle-Earth Parody Contest one week. This means that entries will be recieved until December 7th. We feel this will give you all more time to finish up your pieces, since the contest's timeline was originally a bit too short.

I have added some more pieces to the Fan Art Galleries - in particular, a wonderful map drawn by Gecko.

Don't forget to enter our Parody Contest - it ends November 30th! Plus, we're finally beginning work on the Grey Havens section.

The December issue of Yahoo! Internet Life has a cover story on LotR websites, and the Tolkien Trail is mentioned - twice! In "Caught in Tolkien's Web" on p. 108, The Tolkien Trail has the following description: "Take an interactive tour of Middle-earth and sample Ring-related games, art, music, and other Tolkienalia." And on p. 137, our Rivendell section is specifically cited as a major resource for fan fiction!

Badali Jewelry is sponsoring our latest Contest: the Tolkien Trail Parody Contest! Take a well-known song or story and give it a Middle-earth twist. Entries are due by November 30th. The first-place winner will receive a custom, hand-crafted Silver One Ring! (pictured below):

In other news, our web host, f5Hosting, has made the Trail their "site of the month" for November! If you need a web host, we highly recommend f5.
