Signature problems i e staying below 500 ch

A function counting the number of characters in the sig during the editing of it would be a terrific addition. Is it possible? Glad to know.

Indeed!...in fact, I think it's a bit much to count individual spaces as "characters"... ...Talk about tough, and yet other people's sigs seem bigger than I can get mine...

When a sig gets too big, I get to not really noticing it anymore. It doesn't really have an impact.

Well, has the reduction of my sig made it easier to read then?

You'll always be special to me.

... can I have my pants back, now?

On a serious note--I have to agree: a smaller sig makes more of an impact. I remember back when we had a bunch of people with HUGE sigs. Holy crap. Like, half a -page- would just be their sigs... It was amazing.

Oh yeah, the good ol' days ... when there was only a 60 second posting limit and a minute-and-a-half to post a PM. And beer used to only cost 2 cents! Young people today. Gerroff my dog. Whippersnappers.

*quickly hugs tessar back then smacks anyone who happened to be watching

The sig limit is usually enough, it's only sometimes a bit difficult when you have a lot of links is your signature.

What you could do is type the text for your signature in Word and copy it from there. Word has a function to count words and characters, so you can easily check whether the text you want to put in your signature is too long or not.

I have always had sigs turned off. Don't like those huge sigs and not medium sized ones either

Well, gee, then, I'll just have to always post my sig with what I write, so you don't miss out on the awesome geniusness of it.

That hardly qualifies, Hector. Though, I admit, when I first read that post, the first thing I did was look under.

"Oh".

Turning it off means he can't see them, not that he can't have them.

No wonder the lad can think straight, he's always going directly for our post substance; the signatures have no effect on him...very interesting psychological phenomenon.

Sounds like something we should send in to the 'Dear Hector' advice thread.
