Small print? That's nothing. You're forgetting the lemon chiffon. And I hope I haven't been annoying you too much... I try not to...

Well the lemon chiffon is just something I started to use in place of the spoiler code - it seems as if people have picked that up. I guess when the new VB was installed - the spoiler code was put back. But I haven't seen many people using the lemon chiffon color to make stabbing remarks with though.

And to answer your question - no you haven't been annoying me. You'd really know it if you were. You'd go my **** list.

I like lemon chiffon because the spoiler tag doesn't work in Mozilla firefox. The colour code works in every browser.

I can't believe there's such a discussion over this cute little fellow...

Aww look, little rolleyes is sad now... see?

Actually - the spoiler tag doesn't work at all anymore.

See

The code was never put back in when the new version of VB was uploaded. If the spoiler code worked - it would work for all browsers basically. It's basic html table code and all it does is set the text color to the same color as the background.

Well put something in spoiler code then and let me see. I can look at the source code and see if it does anything. But even bofore the spoile code - it would say "spoiler" just like it says "quote" or "code" which it doesn't say. So to me that indicates that it's no longer working - especially since it used to work for me.

Actually, the spoiler code wasn't altered during the last updating.

There was no reported problem with it till Mozilla Firefox was released. It seems that the problem is that Mozilla reads some html codes in a slighty different way as other browsers do, and it affects to the way in which the spoiler code is written.

If it doesn't work for you it's probably because you're on Mozilla, don't you?

ok...so for our mock trial team t-shirts, some people wanted to put "mock you" on them.

tell me what you think of that.

than read the lemon chiffon text, but I want your first reaction. B/c when I mentioned the spoiler text text people did think what the spoiler text says...but not before...if you understand.

lemon chiffon: Is it too suggestive? as in... "f" you? Because we just want to be funny, not cursing. Ya know. Maybe we should say "We will mock you." or Dela-where?...any ideas? I will continue this elsewhere.

I am using Mozilla Firefox and I don't even have the option of spoiler code (the all grey, right?). Is that completely gone or can other browsers still use it?

btw, I am now imagining lemon chiffon text everywhere...I keep thinking it's there when it truely is a blank line.

Well let's test...

This should be in spoiler code.

To write the spoiler, start with [spoiler] and end with [/spoiler].

JD, you use Netscape right? And it works for you, IE works, just not Firefox. I wonder if Opera and other browswers work...

EDIT: Yeah, I see the text.

And the past tense of the verb "to split" is split. [/grammar nazi]

The spoiler code works with Opera and with MyIE2. It doesn't work with Netscape for me, just like Firefox doesn't work.

Thanks Nurvi for the grammar input and Jonathan for the report on Netscape

Jonathan, I suppose it stopped working for you after the last vBulletin updating, didn't it?

I don't know! I only used Internet Explorer back then

I think JD had Netscape before and that it worked for him before the update.

I found out what the problem is.

The spoiler code isn't using the internet standards for setting the color code. IE is accepting the non-standard, but Mozilla isn't.

The color codes should be defined with a "#" in front of them. This is the way the color code for the spoiler is done in Entmoot....

Code:
<table>
  <tr>
    <td bgcolor="999999"><font class="nf" color="999999">See</font></td>
</tr>
</table>
This way it will work in all browsers....

Code:
<table>
  <tr>
    <td bgcolor="#999999"><font class="nf" color="#999999">test</font></td>
  </tr>
</table>
Microsoft generally makes up their own standards, so it's not suprising that it works in IE. But usually Netscape is pretty forgiving with non-standards. I have more problems with getting things to work and look right in IE than I do in Netscape when coding websites.

To answer the questions - yes it used to work before the VBulletin was uploaded. I assume at that point the color codes were changed and the "#" wasn't used.

Okay, I've changed that. It works in Explorer

Please, Mozilla and Netscape users review the previous posts to test if it works.
